First check to see if your Firewall is blocking all cookies from websites. This is a common problem that will not allow your computer to access information because it is not accepting it from the Yahoo site.
Here are 2 other solutions that i hope help to solve your problem:
1.You have several windows or tabs open in the same Yahoo! Mail
account. The Error Code 5 is a temporary problem which should go away
once you close the additional tabs or windows.
2. You're running the browser-based Yahoo! Mail service, and another
mail service (such as Outlook or your mobile phone email service) tried
to access your Yahoo! Mail server. Try shutting down your other email
services to see if this removes the Error Code 5.

Is this for Yahoo email? They have a good troubleshooting menu for determining and fixing login issues (forgot password, forgot username, compromised / hacked account etc) here: https://edit.yahoo.com/forgotroot If its another email provider or you still are having issues, please let me know which provider you use, and any error messages you're receiving. Thank you.
I think you might be able to use a mail program like windows mail or incredimail (free download) and then import your yahoo stuff, Yahoo is a pop server so you should be able to open windows mail create a new account and get the server information from yahoo support, I know the one will probably be pop.yahoo.com and the smtp server should be smtp.yahoo.com not too sure but give it a shot...Steve
