If the head unit has any fuses go ahead and check those. Recheck all the wiring to make sure nothing was connected where it should't. If you still can't get any power out of the remote wire, there might be an internal issue with the head unit and if it's under warranty, take it back. The only other option is to use the red accessory power wire on the head unit and tap into that but the only thing is that when you turn off your radio, the amp will still stay on and will only turn off when your vehicle is turned off. I would prefer to have the head unit control the amp, so if it's warrantied take it back, but it's completely up to you.

Hooking up kenwood cd player in a 2000 silverado but the wires aren't labeled coming out of the cd player. Pls help

If you use a wire harness adapter, you just have to match the colors from the Kenwood plug to the wires in the adapter. No guesswork.

Kenwood uses the CEA standard for car audio wiring:

Yellow: 12VDC constant power
Red: 12VDC key-switched power
Black: Ground
Orange/White: Illumination
Blue/White: Remote output for amp turn-on
Blue: Power antenna activation

White: Left front speaker (+)
Gray: Right front speaker (+)
Green: Left rear speaker (+)
Violet: Right rear speaker (+)

Each wire with a black stripe is a negative speaker output.

You can download owners' manuals from Kenwood's web site.

Why does my subs only work when the mode is on fm

sounds like you are using the antenna remote wire (blue) to turn the amp on. you need to use the amp remote wire(blue/white stripe). when you go to cd or any other function besides tuner power is shut off to the antenna remoter wire.

there should be two blue wires. one solid blue and one with a white stripe. if i remember the solid should be antenna remote and the blue with white stripe is the amp remote turn on. if you are using the power antenna,it will turn off the amp when not in radio mode.

Powered subwoofer wiring

Red = 12v power Always
Black = Ground Allways
Blue = memory wire that has to run to a Amplifiers Memory Terminal
2x White, seems to be the dimmer and Ant, but im unsure as of these two,

Rca's will go into the AUDIO out of the cd player RED and White holes, that will go to your amplifier.

Im unsure if your talking about a Cd player here, but it seems this it is. If so you should have color coded wires for speakers also (ex- green, green with white stripe, Yellow, yellow with white stripe )
Please provide more information if this dosent solve your problem

Thank you
