Contacts will not sync

Using the palm contacts, I cannot get the contacts to sync. Sync goes into a loop. I can get all other functions to sync between desktop and treo, but not contact. Am not using outlook using Windows xp, Installed Act, and really had problems, so unintalled, that is when the problem started

Have found that the Address area is the problem.
I have all areas marked to do nothing, except address.
When I sync now, the treo shuts down 15 seconds after it starts to sync with the address.
gives error code 6410 connection lost.
gone through all the Palm notes on 6410, and even installed FileZ, but found I do not have the expertise to use this program.
I can sync with all other areas of the palm except my address book.
Do not really want to re-enter all into my desktop manually.

I had this exact same problem did everything U discribe. I even change cables stood in the wind facing north and sacrificed a small animal (hahaha) I called Palm, they said do ahard reset. (haha) reinter 24 day of data manually into the desktop, I dont think so. Then I shut down all the conduits but calender. then I set the conduit to have the handheld over-write the desktop. PROBLEM solved!! No data loss No hard reset No re-entering data. I then folowed up with several test syncs in several conduit configs, including test data in both desktop and handheld. hope this helps.

My T5 will not synch my calendar in Outlook

Welcome to Fixya

Double check the Palm or palmOne program in Windows. Click Start then All Programs then Palm or palmOne. You should see an icon in there called Sync with Outlook or something similar. Click that icon and the Outlook conduits will replace those for Palm Desktop. Some conduits, like Media/Photos will continue to sync with Palm Desktop, but Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, and Memos will sync to Outlook.

Thank you for using Fixya!

Sync palm treo contacts to iphone

There are 2 easy ways to transfer contacts from palm phone to iPhone. Check the below instruction.

Solution 1. Using SIM card Directly

If the Android users haven't cut their SIM card for iPhone yet, they can take advantage of the SIM card to transfer contacts from Android to iPhone. Android users need to go to their Contacts app and choose Export Contacts to SIM. Then the contacts can be transferred to the SIM card. Now users can cut the card and install it in iPhone, and go to Settings > Mails, Contacts, Calendars, and scroll down to find Import SIM Card Contacts. Now you are able to import the contacts from SIM card to your iPhone.

Solution 2. Using Gmail

Another method is using Gmail. Android users can take advantage of Gmail (or other emails provide contacts sync function) to sync Android contacts to iPhone. The following tutorial will show you how to do it:
  1. Log in Gmail on your Android phone, and check the "Sync Contacts" option (If you are first time to use this method.
  2. After Gmail Contacts synced with your Android Contacts, you should turn to iPhone, and tap Settings > Mails, Contacts, Calendars, and tap Add Account. Then choose Google, and enter your Gmail account.
  3. After adding Google Account, you can turn on Contacts, and iPhone will ask whether you want to merge with your iPhone contacts. Click Yes and the contacts will be synced to your iPhone.
With the sync function of Gmail, people are able to transfer contacts from Android to iPhone with ease. If you aren't using Gmail on your iPhone, don't worry, you can take advantage of other email services like Yahoo, Outlook and so on.

Putting contacts on the SIM card

When I migrated from my Palm Centro (best smartphone ever) to my current BlackBerry, I did the following: 1) Export Palm contacts from the Palm Desktop software to CSV (comma separated values or tab-delimited text) format. 2) Import the CSV file to your Google Contacts account. 3) Wirelessly sync Google Contacts to your new phone using the free Google Sync app (link below). 4) Verify data was transferred appropriately.
Google Sync works with iPhones: http://www.google.com/mobile/sync/
You should be able to follow the same process for your Palm Calendar by exporting your Palm Calendar from the Palm Desktop software to a file (save the exported file to your desktop, or an easy to find location on your computer), then import the Calendar file into a NEW Google Calendar, not your primary calendar (in case there's conflicts or problems, you can delete the secondary Google calendar without losing your primary Google calendar items). Google Sync should allow you to choose more than one Google Calendar to sync with your iPhone.

Why will my Garmin not sync into my computer?

First, right click the hotsync button in the task bar and make sure "USB" is selected (assuming you're using USB...).
If that doesn't work, let me know.

Palm data and ActiveSync

You won't be able to do that. Lotus Organizer as well as Lotus Notes and OutHook are PIM some plus e-mail, just like Palm Desktop is a PIM. So you can have the Treo sync with Lotus Organizer AND have the Axim sync with it also it is because there are conduits buit for them. There is a middleware that allows both to talk to one. Now if you can find a piece of software out there that will sync a PocketPC with Palm Desktop, I'm sure a lot of Palm converts would love to know that.
