I had the same problem with the XP7240. The rubber seal in the plunger that pushes out the coffee cake after brewing is worn or dirty. You need to romve the cover by taking of the top (screws in the bean collector and cover tray for cleaning tablet). You have to be rough because parts are clicked together. The face of the machine comes off by pulling it upwards (it is just clamped with plastic nudges). Once that is done you remove the 4 screws that were hidden by the stainless steel face. Then remove the electronic board (leave connections on except for bean grinder and boiler). Grinder can then be removed followed by the cream cover. Remove the 15mm steel nut on top of the arm. Remove the front and display. Then use a torix on top of the brew plate and an allan key on the bottom of the plunger. Unscrew, remove spring and seal (very small cup).
