Images cut off on top and bottom of screen

The picture is fine but it appears something has happend to spread the overall picture. Those anoying little pop-up ads at the bottom of the screen are mostly cut off as well as pictures at the top of the screen such as the heads on alot programs. It still cycles through the aspects O.K. Any adjustment to regain control of picture size.

I as well have the same problem. It seems as though the TV is zoomed in always. Does anyone know a solution?

My PT-47X54 also cuts images off at bottom and top of screen. Has anyone found the solution?

Convergence works OK, but it seems like I need to adjust the overall vertical picture size.

Same issue as above mentioned. images seems like it is too big for the screen and cuts off parts of the shows.

Classic example of the failure of the high voltage circuit. If you have a Samsung like mine, the power supply has a capacitor (other tv has more than one capacitor) and this capacitor is failing to maintain the 400 volts needed to drive the video circuit/card.

First, have you made any adjustments to the tv other than from the setup menu? If not I have the service manuals for the tv in pdf files and would be glad to send them to you. Let me know I have the same tv and corrected the same problem. v/r, Scott

SOURCE: Panasonic PT-47WX53 Horizontal Picture Size

Normally, when I see this problem in the customer's home, I find the main culprit to be the cable or satelite receiver box. The remote for the cable box may have a button on it to change the format or picture size. You may have to go into the menu of the cable box to change the format setting. Hope this helps.

This is the vertical problem,it is a bad capacitor you must replaced all electrolytic capacitor in vertical section and resolder all associated parts there,so it works better again.

Hope it will helps you;

When youtube video starts ,some kind of pop up covers video, making it blurry and the video controls you can't see,how do you fix this issue?

These days, many YouTube videos (especially the popular ones) have a small pop-up advertisement near the beginning of the video. This ad will pop up right above the controls near the bottom of the video.

Simply clicking on the '[x]' located on the top-right of the ad will get rid of it straight away. Unfortunately, these ads are not completely avoidable, so you will need to manually close them off yourself every now and then.

If it's not the advert I mentioned above, it could be the small boxes that appear in certain videos which have text in them, these could also be links. They can appear anywhere in the video, because it's up to the person who uploads the video to insert these comment. These cannot be closed.

Overall, neither of the above should block the video controls at all. Although zooming in on the browser you're using can cause certain sites to look a bit "off". If you hold down the "Ctrl" key and move your mouse wheel up and down, it will zoom in and out of the page. This might also help.
Make sure that whatever browser you're using (i.e. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome) is fully up to date. Active sites such as YouTube will maintain their website to work with the latest updates.

Hope this helps!

My tv is 2 years old and in the last month or so in the middle of a show the screen will go black and a red line runs down the middle and it lasts for about 5 min and a little pop sound and the picture...

It appears you may have had a line collapse caused by a poor connection in the line output stage, it would be a matter of resoldering around this area. Now that you say it will come on could indicate that a component has now failed as a result of the line collapsing, more than likely the line output transistor has now also failed & would need replacing.

Flash problem with my Nikon Coolpix 8700

Send the camera in to Nikon for a replacement and write a nasty letter. I have the same problem and that's what I did. This is a wide-spread problem. Then once they send you a replacement (that works), quickly sell it on E-bay and buy yourself something that works!

Dell 17' Flat screen

I used to fix a 19 inches LCD flat screen from Dell. There are 4 screws at the back of rear panel and no screw at the front frame. If there is no visible screw, you have to look for "capped" screw holes (little covers that fit flush with the case to hide the screws). If you don't see these neither, this must be a tension fit case. So, face the screen up and look for "rectangular hole" on the side edge (usually at the bottom edge of the screen). This will be a challenge to open without breaking it. You'll need a very thin flat screw driver and wedge it into that narrow rectangular hole. You can use any prybar if you don't have screw driver. It is not too deep. You may stab something important inside and pry it. Once it starts to spread, start sliding it along the seem and you should feel the tension tabs start "popping" open. Continue to work your way around until it's off. Hope this will help you to get the rear panel off. If there is anything I can help you with, feel free to let me know.
Thank you,

The TV does not have a reset button. If you have no picture and no sound, there is something wrong with the chassis. In this case the set should be serviced by someone experienced in the RCA CTC203 chassis. If you have no picture but do have sound, then it is possible that the 2 controls in the 2 little holes in the back of the set are not adjusted correctly. This is quite possible since you said you put a screwdriver in there and got a fuzzy picture. The control on the bottom is called "screen" and is the overall brightness of the picture and the control on top is called "focus" and is the sharpness of the picture.

Picture is too large for the screen, horizontally.

No my friend, there is a problem with the width circuit, and this would be in the pincussion correction circuit of the TV set. There is alot of high voltage in this circuit, and if you have no TV repair experience, play it safe and call in a tech to service this for you. there is not any adjust ment that will fix this. Good Luck
