Cannot switch between PC's

I have 3 PC's connect to this 4-port that I just installed out of the box. I only get one connection(and one light lit up). Which ever PC is connected to port 1 gets control. I cannot use the button on the front, the scroll scroll up or down or number keys, and it will not auto scan. I assume it only sees one PC connected as it only gives me one light lit up (port 1). I can connect any PC up to any port and get power, but the light only shows that it is on on port 1 and I only have mouse, keyboard and vga on port 1. I have tried shutting down all 3 PC's and bringing each one of them up one at a time but get the same result. I had a 2-port belkin kvm connect and that worked fine but since I have dropped a 3rd PC I needed a 4-port. Any help would be greatly appreciated. FYI I have (2) Win server 2003 machines connected and a Win 98 machine. Thanks in advance Matt

I had the same problem but with a different model.  I called tech support.  They are sending me a new switch.

You KVM is bad. I had the exact problem, while using premium Monster cables. Replacing the KVM solved the problem, partially. Now, I have flickering problems at 1920x1200 resolution. It's definitelly a KVM issue also, my friend has the same monitor and video card. With an identical KVM he does not have any flickering. If I install my KVM on his setup, the flickering apears on his setup also.

Typically, the KVM indicator light will only light up on the connection that is currently active. The indicator light will switch to another connection when that connection becomes active. First I would make sure that all the mouse and keyboard connections are secure. I have seen where these sometimes pop out, and thus some componenty will not work. I would then make sure that all the computers are fully powered on. The KVM will not allow you to switch to a device if it is not powered on. The KVM may indicate that a connection is down by a blinking light if you switch to a port and the connection is not up. It sounds that you have atleast one good set of cables. I would confirm that the other sets of cables are good as well. Do this by swapping the other cables with the one port that you know you have working. Finally, with a set of good working cables, swap them over to the other ports on the KVM switch. Although it may be improbable, you may have a bad KVM. AS always, I would review the product manual here: http://web.belkin.com/support/download/files/P74711ea_F1DJ10x_man.pdf And, since this is a new product, you will also be entitled to free tech support from Belkin: http://web.belkin.com/support/phonenumbers.asp?pge=bro 1-800-2BELKIN x2263

Also, make sure the PC #1 button is not jammed. I have had a button stick down and it behaves as you describe.

The Casablanca 88U33M Scandia Ceiling Fan only has three wires, a black, a white, and a green wire (ground). How do you wire the fan and light on seperate switches?

If you want to control both the light and the fan using 3-ways, then just wire 2 sets of the 3-way circuits. For this you need two sets of 3-wire between the switches, and one 3-wire cable from the switch location to the fan/light box.

At box #1 (a 2 gang box), you will run a power cable (marked cable #1) into it. From there you run 2 sets of 3-wire cables (identified as cable #2 & cable #3) to the other switch location, which will also be a 2-gang box (box #2).

Also from box #1, you will run a 3-wire cable (cable #4) to the fan/light box (box #3).

Hook up is as follows:

Box #3: connect black of cable #4 to black (fan), connect red of cable #4 to blue (light), connect white of cable #4 to white (fan/light), and connect the bare to the green.

Box #2: Connect white of cable #2 to identified terminal on 1st 3-way switch (#3). Connect red & black of cable #2 to the remaining screws of 3-way switch #3. Next connect white of cable #3 to identified terminal of 2nd 3-way switch (#4), and connect black and red to remaining screws. Tie all grounds together and terminate to both switches.

At box #1, connect black from cable #1 to whites in cables #2 & #3, using a wirenut. Connect white in cable #1 to white in cable #4. Connect black and red in cable #2 to 3rd 3-way switch (#1) and connect black and red in cable #3 to 4th 3-way switch (#2). Connect black in cable #4 to identified terminal of 3-way switch #1, and connect red in cable #4 to identified terminal on 3-way switch #2. Tie all grounds together and to the switches

I cant connect to the internet

How to quickly install and use your Belkin wireless G router 1. Step 1
Position your Belkin wireless G router.

Place your wireless G router in a wide open and central location. Don't connect the power plug into the router, yet. Make sure your computer is turned off.

2. Step 2
Connect all the devices.

Find the Ethernet cable that connects your PC to the modem. Unplug the Ethernet cable from your PC and insert it into the wireless G router's WAN port. You should have an additional Ethernet cable that came with your router. Take this cable and plug one end into one of the LAN ports on the router. Then connect the other end to your PC's Ethernet port.

3. Step 3
Turn on your modem, router, and PC.

Plug the power plug adapter into the modem. Turn on the modem. It'll take approximately 30 seconds for the modem to boot up. Connect the power plug adapter to the router and the other end into a power strip or outlet. Like the modem, it'll take about 30 seconds for the router to boot. Turn on your PC.

4. Step 4
Verify lights are on for your devices.

Make sure the following lights are on for your router: power, WAN, and LAN light. If you don't see any of them lit, confirm these devices are turned on. Make sure the Ethernet cable connections are installed correctly.

5. Step 5
Install and configure software.

Use the setup wizard application to configure your Belkin wireless G router. Set up features, such as creating your password and setting up your time zone. Continue to follow the setup wizard so you can configure  other settings.

I can't switch to one of my boxes.

1) Make sure your connection to pc3 is good, take out and reconnect both ends.

2) If that has no effect power down the switch for 30 seconds then switch back on.

3) If that has no effect, connect pc3 to the pc2 slot. If PC3 now works, you've got a problem with the switch. If pc3 still doesn's work, its a problem with the pc3 lan connection. You'll need to check "Network connections" in your control panel.

Can you tell me if all of the four numbers should be lit up to reflect the Netgear WGR614 is working? My internet connection suddenly quit and I just noticed that on the number "1" is lit.

On a router, the numbers light up only if there is an active computer plugged in to that port. One computer plugged into port 1 the number 1 wil light, and same with 2, 3, 4. No device plugged in to port = no light. Different color lights with different data rates.

2 0f 4 ports do not work

It sounds as though the ports on the cable/dsl router as bad. There really isn't anything you can do. It just happens. The typical shelf life of those routers is about 3-4 years. You could go out and buy another one or if you just need more ports go out and buy a little 5 port switch and plug it into one of the working ports and your comptuers into the 5 port switch.

It's always smart to set a restore point in case something goes wrong during installation of any program. For wireless connection from laptop or PC: install router software on computer. Reboot computer. In browser address bar enter 192.168.1.1. This brings up a window for user name and password. Enter "admin" for both. This allows you to change many settings including Changing SSID(Router Name), User name and password. Enabling WEP or WPA security. Hope this Helps, Good Luck..!!
