Mikomi optical mouse lights up but does not work

hi, most Mouse take a generic PS2 or a USB controller while you install them on Microsoft OS Post win98.

An optical mouse works based on imaging principle so we have the freedom of accessing even in a 3D way. If your Optical mouse is not moving the cursor side wise, I would suggest you to look for the exact Mouse driver and install it. Usually on a Windows XP machine they work as plug and play.

If the Driver is working fine, you must look for the Windows or OS compatibility. The WDDM compatibility can also cause this to happen.

Else you have to replace the mouse.

On an optical mouse, two thngs happen. The light shines out and a sensor reads the reflection almost like a camera image. Try some other surfaces, particularly ones which are not shiny. If that doesn't help, install the mouse on some other computer. If that works, reinstall your drivers on the first computer, removing the old ones as best you can (Control Panel...Device Manager...etc.). If it doesn't work on the other computer, check for any switches on the mouse (that would be uncommon) and for warranty coverage. Otherwise, the light sensor is probably broken and there is little you can do.

Hi, first of all you send me some details that, is the light on your keyboard turns on when window start and the mouse light(I think u have optical mouse). Let me know these first then I'll tell u what to do.

The mouse does not need any driver, then when there is no problem it will work straightforward. When light goes off it means the mouse is not powered anymore, this is easily caused by a broken contact in the mouse or the connector.
Disconnect the computer power cable ( and remove battery if it is a laptop) for 20 minutes, this will get rid of eventual electrostatic problems on usb.
Connect the mouse before starting the computer.
Connect the mouse to a different pug, if you have a different computer also test it on the other computer, to ensure that is not a problem with windows.
If it still does not work , then it is probably faulty, take it back to the shop and ask a replacement.

Try using a different mouse mat, preferably something with stripes or muticoloured. Or try using it over a plain white sheet of paper. If that does not work, try reinstalling the latest drivers.

Mikomi doesn't have its own drivers. You can try using Logitech Setpoint (any version works)

Download the one that most resembles your mouse. You can see the various mice from the drop down menu or choose the one that you see in this link..

Others have had similar problems with this mouse connecting it with Vista as the operating system. Try to get a replacement, as there is currently no solution.
