Question about Dual 2-Channel Bridgeable MOSFET Amplifier (XPA4100) Car Audio Amplifier
Make sure the amplifier is turning on. Remember ther is three wires that power the amp Battery constant, Ground which in a fiberglass boat run ground to battery not motor, Plus make sure the remote wire is hooked to power, generally it is switched power. But if the amp is not turning on temporarily hook remote and power together to battery and see if the amplifier turs on. Second be sure you have a good set of RCA cables hooking the radio to the amp. And finally check and make sure the gain is turned up on the amplifier.

I just puchased two pioneer car stero head units, boasting 200watts, one for my sons 18th birthday and one for my boat. i installed the one in my sons car along with a new set of speakers. the system sounds great! very clean and very loud. Now i'm exited, i jump in my boat with a 600watt marine amp and the new head unit, and four 100watt marine speakers. after hours of work i turn it on and it sucks. there is very little volume and max volume is less than what i had with the old unit. I took a short cut on the amp power wire and ran it to the fuse box.
could this be the problem?
