Sony KV-32FV1 A few weeks ago I heard a pop out of my TV as I was turning it on. Since then I have had two major problems. When the pop happened, I noticed a color shift to the green side. I can still see the other colors since I did adjust it. The brightness seemed to go out of whack as well. I have it turned almost all the way down and it still seems brighter than usual. When there is no picture then the screen is a definate green. The second part of the problem is when I am watching tv, the screen will go out but sound will remain. This will continue on, sometimes it will stop for hours other times it will go really fast or slow. It has been getting worse over the next few weeks. Can you give me a few ideas and cost for at least parts, I live in the DC area so I know tech fees will be slightly high. Yes I know my Sony is the first model of the Wega series. I bought it as a floor model in 1998 in Houston, since then it has moved to DC then to Philly then back to DC and a few times to different places in DC. I will not be offended if you tell me to junk it. It has served me well over the years. Thanks

After so many years of use is possible that the unit developed loose conections in the horizontal driver transformer and some other places,I will suggest not to use it like that because it will blow up and the repair will be more expensive, call a qualified tech and get an estimate.Good luck

Sony Bravia XBR-2 32-inch LCD with popping noise problem

Unfortunately, we have the same problem. We hear popping and our sound goes lower. It is not the cable box for us, it's definitely the TV; however, it happens, on our set, after its been on for a few minutes and then goes away after half an hour or so -- however, this evening its been happening for the past hour and the TV has been on for the evening.

Sony Trinitron KV35V36 Blinks Every Second

Picture blinks on/off and audio is still there?? If so it's the crt and a common thing for sonys to go out like that.. You can lower the G2 voltage a bit and that might help for awhile or have the tube rejuvenated by a technician - but either idea is only a temporary fix...
Sorry

Yes, the set is fixable. This is very common on the Sony sets, but the set should be serviced by a qualified tech familiar with Sony sets.
