I recently installed Windows XP over the original Vista OS for a client's laptop, and have been having driver issues. I fixed the sound with a driver provided by toshiba for this model, but all drivers provided for the Wi-Fi adapter/card have been useless.
I cannot connect to wireless networks or even administrate the adapter. The computer is a Toshiba Satellite A135-S4447 laptop.
Anyone out there that can help me? All searches have shown that this is a common problem with difficult solutions. Perhaps you have an easier solution for my scenario? Thanks in advance!
Well this is a common error by many users, when down grading MS O's you should first format you drive and erase the higher OS and then go to another computer and log onto you computer maker web support site and download the network driver onto a flash drive. Then install the lower level MS OS and the network driver. Get on line and go back to the support site and download all the drivers for your machine. when done go to MS web site and download all the updates for your OS

Install driver for model close to your from here http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=EU
Well of course I do have to tell ya that downgrading from the original operating system which is Vista OS on your computer will cause alot of issues, Usually you will need to go to each and every manufactors website for each product and locate the driver yourself because every Computer Manufactor company will tell you that you should keep the windows operating system that came with the computer or they will not provide you any drivers, and they mean it, I tried downgrading from Vista OS to XP and had no drivers ... I would try going to the Wi-Fi adapter/card manufactors website and try to locate a driver. That is your bests bet Toshiba is not going to help any...especially if warrant is out of date...Let me know how it goes!

Well part of the problem is that I have not been able to determine who the manufacturer of the wireless adapter is. All of my hardware ID tools have been vague on this topic. Anyone know what types of wireless adapters are on the Toshiba Satellite A135-S4447 laptops? That could help me look for drivers!
I forgot to update the page; after reading a bunch of forum posts, I was able to find a European driver that made the wifi card work on the laptop in Windows XP. Thanks for all the assistance though!
