Question about HP Console Switch KVM Switch
I purchased one of these off of EBay. I don't have a manual, and the HP site tells me it doesn't understand 1497A. The problem is that every now and then, the mouse takes on a mind of its own. It runs all over the screen and clicks on things. It only appears to do this if I'm using the mouse. This problem does not occur on several DOS based machines that I have connected to it, but they do not use mice. The problem seems to be worse on a a new AMD 64 X2 4600 machine than it does on an older AMD K62 machine I have, but it occurs on both nonetheless. There is an odd icon that appears some of the time when this happens. If memory serves me correctly the icon looks like four arrows pointing in a North/South/East/West configuration. This is extremely frustrating as you might imagine. Work I've done ends up getting "X'd" out of, etc. The solution when it occurs is to perform a "PrtScrn" (to get the HPARCS menu), F2 (to get the Advanced menu), and Reset (to reset the mouse and keyboard). Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!
