Remove the Drip Bucket and you will find the bottom of the filter at the top of the opening where the bucket was. The filter is behind the front grill. Push the tabs away from you and pull down.

I HAVE THE BHD-301-D COMFORT AIRE DEHUMIDIFIER AND THE LIGHT KEEPS BLINKING AND IT WILL NOT RUN I DO NOT KNOW WERE THE FILTER IS TO SEE IF IT NEEDS CLEAN CAN YOU HELP THANKS

The filter is located behind the front louvers. It can be accessed by removing the water collection bucket and looking up into the bucket holder, just behind the louvers. You should see a plastic pull tab handle, which is the filter frame. If you have never removed the filter for cleaning, it may have a piece of plastic tap, which was used for shipping. you will need to remove the tape and discard it, before pulling straight won the filter frame.

The filter can be cleaned by vacuuming it or if it's really dirty, washing it it in warm water and mild dish washing liquid. Rinse thoroughly and shake off any excess water and dry the filter completely before reinstalling it. Never operate the unit with out the air intake filter in place.

Hope I was able to help you and thanks for choosing FixYa..

I bought this unit on 13 August 2009. The unit runs, the bucket is in place, the filter is clean, but it doesn't remove any moisture from the air. The unit is in the basement in the exact same place it...

There are 5 basic, yet solvable reasons for what you described. Please pay particular attention to numbers 1 & 2..

1. The humidity extraction level is set to HIGH. Lower it to 32-35%.

2. Air intake filter is dirty or clogged. Turn unit OFF, & Unplug the
Unit, before removing to inspect & clean it, if necessary. If washed,
allow filter to completely dry before reinstalling. DO NOT operate
the unit without the filter.

3. Obstructed air flow. Maintain a minimum of 12 to 18" of clear air
space around the entire unit.

4. Cooling coils are dirty and need to be cleaned. Use warm water & dish washing liquid to
clean the coils. Rinse and wipe dry. Apply a light coating of WD40 to the coils.

5. Ambient air temperature at floor level is between 40 - 60 degrees.
dehumidifiers do not work well between those temperatures
(Unless, you have a Low Temp Unit). This applies mainly to
where the air temperature at floor level is colder than at shoulder
level
in basement applications. Raising the unit up off the floor,
onto a sturdy table, counter top, etc, that can handle the weight
of the unit, plus a full tank of water, will usually resolve this
problem.

If none of the above solves the problem, it may be a case of the compressor needs to be recharged with refrigerant gas or that the humidity condenser sensor has failed. These things usually occur in units that are 5 years old or older. It's rare in a unit younger than that. But, it can happen.

I hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

Where is air intake filter? unit is icing up Thanks so much

The air intake filter is one of 2 places. In either case, it's behind the front louvers

1. Remove the water collection bucket from it's holder. Look up into the bucket holder, just behind
the front louvers. You should see what looks like a plastic frame. It may have a pull tab handle. In
any event, the is the filter frame. Pull it straight down and out. It can be cleaned with a vacuum or
if it's really dirty, wash it in warm water and dish washing liquid, rinse and allow to completely dry
before reinstalling it. NEVER operate the unit without the filter in place. Doing so, could damage
the unit.

2, Look on the right hand side of the unit's cabinet, just behind the louvers. If you see what appears
to be a op open door, the filter is behind that door. Follow the above directions for cleaning the
filter.

I hope this helps you. Please let be know.

MY dehumdifier is blowing warm air ,Is there a fitler that needs to be cleaned and how is this done ? Model 3fdl5051 50pints

It's not unusual for a dehumidifier to blow warm air. As it may be in defrost mode. Even so, they still blow warm air.

The model number you furnished is slightly helpful. Knowing what brand it is, would be even better.

Never-the-less, the filter should be located behind the front louvers of the unit. Turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF and unplug the unit. Remove the water collection bucket and look up inside the bucket holder, just behind the front louvers. You may see a plastic pull tab handle. If so, that's the filter frame. Pull it straight down and out.

If you didn't find it there, look on the right hand side of the unit, just behind the louvers for what looks like a a flip open door. If you see that, flip the door open and remove the filter.

The filter can be cleaned using a vacuum cleaner or if it's really dirty, wash it in warm water and dish washing liquid. Thoroughly rinse and allow to completely dry, before reinstalling it. NEVER operate the unit without the filter in place.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know. Thanks.

No moisture removal. This is a DDH 30 model. How does one game access to the air filter for cleaning. I realize this is an older unit but has always performed well. Before purchasing a new...

Wayne, the filter may be in one of two places.

1. Turn the unit OFF & unplug it.

2. Remove the bucket from the holder. Look up inside the holder, just in front of the louvers and you may see a plastic pull tab type handle. This will be the handle to the filter frame. Pull it down and out of the unit. Since it sounds like it has never been cleaned, wash it in warm water and dish washing liquid. Rinse thoroughly and allow to completely dry, before reinstalling it. NEVER operate the unit without the filter in place, as it could cause damage to the unit

2. If the filter was not located in step 1, on the right side of the unit, just behind the louvers, there may be a pull open trap door. Flipping that door open, will give you access to the filter and it's removal. Clean it as described above.

The above are the only 2 places I know of, that the filter can be located in on a Delonghi
Dehumidifier. Unless, your unit is over 10 years old. In any event, I hope this helped you.

Need to clean filter

Hazel, I assume you want to know how to find and remove the filter for cleaning.

The filter is located behind the front air intake louvers and depending on which model you have, the filter can be accessed one of two ways. Before you attempt to remove the filter turn the unit OFF and unplug it.

1. Remove the bucket from it's holder. Look up inside the bucket cavity, just inside the unit behind the louvers and you will see a tab type pull handle. This is the handle to the frame of the filter. Pull it down and out.

2. As you're facing the unit on the fight side just behind the louvers, there will appear to be a trap type door. Open this door and you will have access to pull the filter out.

You can clean the filter in one of two ways: Vacuum it or it it's really dirty, wash it in warm soapy (dish washing liquid), rinse and dry thoroughly. NEVER operate the dehumidifier without the filter in place. Doing so, can cause damage to the unit.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know.

No water in getting into the bucket

The basic things that cause this problem are easy to troubleshoot and solve.

1. The humidity extraction level is set to HIGH. Lower it to 35% or less.

2. The air intake filter is dirty or clogged. Remove and clean the filter following the Owner's Manual's instructions on "How to clean the filter."

3. Not enough clear air space around the unit. Maintain a minimum of 12" Clear Air Space on all
4 - sides of the unit.

4. The ambient air temperature at floor level is between 40 & 60 degrees F. If the unit is a basement, the air temperature at the floor level is colder than the air temperature at chest level. Place the unit on a sturdy table or counter, that can handle the weight of the unit, plus a full tank of water.

Hope this helps you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks

Dehumidifers runs but doesn't pull the water out air. I purchased this at Wal mart on 2/23/07.

There a couple of things you can do to hopefully solve this problem. Most of the time, the air intake filter is clogged and needs to be cleaned. In addition, the humidity level you have it set to, must be in direct correlation to the humidity in your home. Keep that in mind when setting the extraction setting.

Before you attempt to remove the filter, be sure you turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF and then unplug the unit from the wall outlet.

If by the slim chance cleaning the filter doesn't solve the problem, the unit's compressor may need to be recharged with cooling refrigerant. This is something that is best left to a pro or a service center in your area.

Hope this helps you to continue to troubleshoot and solve the problem.
