Lexmark 1270 i have this printer it has printed well before but i recently tried to print something and all it does its print blank paper and copy blank paper also but it scans perfectly the pc says the ink is full so i don't know what s wrong?

It could be that your cartridge needs cleaning. On your computer, go to Start menu > Programs / All Programs > Lexmark 6100 Series > Lexmark Solution Center. Go to Maintenance tab > select Clean to fix horizontal streaks. Your printer will then print a page forcing ink through the cartridge nozzles and clean them. Try to print your document again and determine if the problem is fixed.

Ok! there is two methods ok! turn off your printer and restart your computer and make sure that the computer recognizes your printer and once thats done make sure that once recognize you could install the drivers to your printer. Try that if not hit me back...

did you put the paper you want to copy?
try just printing something from your pc.

try and make a copy with the fax... if it comes out the same way... turn the paper face up if it was face down or vice versa and try again... if it works then fax the same way and see what happens... if all goes well then keep copying and faxing that way... if that works but fax does not work... print an internal report... if that does not print then you have main board problems... if internal prints print then you have a problem with your ccd... thats a big long strip that rests right under the keyboard... thats what does the scanning... if that is bad... then when you fax... or copy it will be blank or black... depending on what is blown on it...

To solve the printing problem..


# Hold the cartridge upside down, with the bar-code label facing you and take a damp paper towel.
# Use the towel to wipe the printhead of the cartridge on the bottom (where the ink comes out). Wipe the printhead horizontally in one direction only (left to right).
# Continue doing this until it looks clean.
# Then dab the cartridge on the towel to make sure the ink is flowing.
# Next, look inside the printer and locate the carrier that holds ink cartridges. Caution: Make sure the cartridges are not installed at this point.

1. Look for a shiny piece of metal underneath the contacts at the back of the carrier.
2. Take a damp cotton swab (use water only!) and wipe along the bottom of the shiny metal piece. Note: You may need more than one swab.

# Reinstall the cartridges, making sure you snap them correctly into the printer. 

LOOK UNDER PROPERTIES AND SEE IF PRINT TO FILE IS CHECKED. OR UNINSTALL AND THEN REINSTALL,OR CHECK SETTINGS ON THE PRINTER MAYBE SOMETHING WAS PRESSED MY MISTAKE, GOOD LUCK

try a test page, first, please..computer disconnected from printer..

well do one thing make a fresh installation again . go to www.lexmark.com download the drivers.

after installing it , do self test in the printer . if you go to menu options in the printer u will get self test option.

either wise try use different USB port , and make a fresh insatllation, and chekc it
