Question about Hitachi 43GX10B 43" Rear Projection Television

Hitachi 43GX10B Convergence Trouble

I'm very glad there is a message board like this - i'm hoping someone can help me - I've read through some posts and thought I was having the common convergence problem and I've already replaced both STK IC chips which has not helped a bit. The blue is off in ALL nine areas and I can't get it to move up or down but it will move some left or right. There must be at LEAST 1 resistor out but it isn't something obvious since nothing appears to be burned. I do have a meter to use if I knew where to check for an open. It's a very basic meter so I'm hoping I can test it out of circuit with the board out of the T.V. I can check continuity and that's about it. I'm hoping someone will know what this is since it doesn't appear to be as common and with what i've already done it sounds like only the resistors could be the culprit - my luck I was afraid it wouldn't be as easy for me as it has been for alot of other people on here. Thanks for any help

The parking break won't disengage on my Lincoln Ls 2003.

Try checking the fuse for the parking brake. If that doesn't work check the ground meaning you might have to remove the cover were the parking brake button is. If that's not it you have to have someone check the parking brake cable which is located behind the brake caliper in the rear of the vehicle. Sorry for the long novel just giving you the most common things before it drives you crazy. Hope it helps if anything just post again and ill b glad to help you again. Thanks good luck.

Can anybody tell me what the most common components go in the module board of Hotpoint wd440 or wd420 Washer Dryers. i have been trying to work on these boards now for some time now. I have come across...

Hi

As you know that almost all the errors are related to motor so I would say the most common thing that is replaced on the board is the triac or the relay however, its better if the board is replaced completely. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Trying to use an old computer using Windows 95 as a storage device for photos. When inserting photo disc into drive the following message pops up: D: forward slash is not accessible. The device is not...

Well, the "D:/" means your cd drive isn't reading or recognising your photo cd's. It's possible that if you've a very elderly computer, that the cd drive is also pretty ancient and can't handle writeable or rewriteable cd's ..only commercially produced ones. This is quite common with old cd drives. Hope this helps you understand the message, though no help in resolving it! Regards, Nicam49

I have an LG 42PC1DA and there is no screen but there is sound. Sounds like the capacitor failed from reading solution posts. I was wondering what i should expect to pay to have it fixed by someone else?

Shop rate will be $200 and up plus parts.
Yes, it can be caps failures in power supply, Z-SUSTAIN, Y-SUSTAIN boards, you also need to check the fuses on all those 3 boards, they are common failure boards.
See the pictures of the boards here:

Please leave rating if it helps.

Hi andbaxt.

I've only just seen your posting by random chance, although you addressed your posting to me FixYa does not currently work that way so I was not alerted to your message. Although it's been five months since your posting I thought I'd reply just to let you know that your message has not been ignored.

Although I'd be happy to offer you direct assistance, FixYa rules prohibit posting any messages which contain personal contact details. The rule is there to ensure that FixYa remains as safe as possible for all participants, but like all such rules it's by necessity a broad brush which may occasionally be inconvenient. But safety must come first.

FixYa presently offers no way to request help directly from individual Experts either, but it is a constantly evolving site and this may eventually change. My own opinion is that FixYa is an information resource, not a forum and as all FixYa Experts are volunteers being able to directly contact us could result in large mail inboxes which may drive Experts away. Helping others is enjoyable, but not if it becomes a chore. There is an exception to this and it's that Experts can choose to register on the site as Repair Professionals, listing their business on this site. But again, it's a broad brush: if I want to make my details available to you then I'm available to all and this is not something which suits me at the present time. Not least because most of the resulting enquiries would be from the USA/Canada which would be impractical for someone living in south London.

In summary, sorry I cannot assist you directly, but it really is a straightforward job if you follow the instructions in my original posting. If you really don't want to do it yourself, then perhaps you know someone else with practical skills who can follow the instructions: anyone who is into making models should find it to be a piece of cake.

Haha no prob man. Just try following those steps, to tell you the truth most of my automotive backgound is based off my lifted jeep cherokee...my gf's car is the first import i've even cared to look at (with everything being so crammed together)...but if some 20 year old punk kid can do it, im sure you can too. Let me know how it turns out, I'm really interested to find out if this is way more of a common prob. then I thought. Cheers,

Sounds like the 1000uf capacitors on the FMT board need replacing. This is a common symptom with that chassis. There are three 1000uf caps that fail on that PC Board
