Samsung ml1640 printer thermistor open cycle power error

It might be thermostat open, pl. open the fusser assembly check the thermostat for continuity one or two bottom like thing having two wings. if its open detach this and knock hardly with hand and ay hard surface it may reset to show continuity. put the thermostat in it position and check.

Also it may happen the fusser melts, If the fusser roller and pressure roller attached each other then you have to replace both fusser and SMPS. If you are not sure as it was connected to DG set power.

The fuser thermistor failed. You need to open the printer and replace it.

it is very simple but need some electronic soldering knowledge. simply solder a piece of wire as in this picture. your printer never say "toner exhausted"

If the LED is blinking 5 times it means ASF (cam) sensor error [5700].

To clear memory, you must reset it.

You can try and clear the error by holding down the power button and waiting for it to turn off then wait 30 seconds and turn it back on. {you might need to unplug it to get it to turn off}

Or,

Hold down the stop/reset and then push the power button while the printer is on. The printer should shut off then wait 30 seconds and then hold the stop/reset again and push the power button and the printer should turn on with the error cleared.
