Question about Panasonic NV-GS50 Mini DV Digital Camcorder

Spots inside lens

My nephew's camcorder appears to have some type of spots on the inside of the lens, so when you record they are in the very center and blur the images. Is there any way of cleaning the inside of the lens?

There must be dust in side the lens cover but do not try to open at home if you are not proff.

The problem i m having with my camcorder is when i want to record film screen goes blank but i can watch my previous recorded videos

Look in the view finder when recording instead of the screen. if you see the image there then the unit is probably set to look through there. Many of the new units dont' have a full view finder to lens item they actually have a small lcd screen inside the view finder. Check your options for recording.

Also if the view finder is tilted you need to close that before usign the lcd.

The image will not appear simultaneously on the LCD

monitor and the viewfinder. It will appear in the

viewfinder when the LCD monitor is in the lock position,

and it will appear on the LCD monitor when fully
extended.

Suddenly broad bands appeared across the lens and then recorded on the tape. We did not drop or scratch the lens and this looks undamaged. Any ideas why ? Thanks Ro & Chantale

hi, lens of the cam maybe dirty or needs replacement even if you didnt drop it, if you can open it then you can clean it manually but i suggest to bring it to a service center to avoid damaging sensitive parts.

When recording, no picture thru viewfinder or lcd panel. Records sound. Was working fine, just started this, and the lens cap is off. Any assistance greatly appreciated.

It could be either aperture is stuck or ccd imager chip is defective in your camcorder that will be replaced.
In bright light, look into camera lens, turn ON in camera mode and observe does aperture open like an eye?
If you notice some thing opens right in center of camcorder lens then aperture is working and ccd imager chip is bad that will be replaced.
Let me know model number of your Sony camcorder to provide you ccd imager part number info.

How do I remove condensation from inside my camcorder lens?

place on oven @ 320F for 10 mins. flip over and add bbq sauce.. should be done. <JUST KIDDING>

leave tape out, put on sun for couple hrs.

Its problem of CCD Imager Sensor and required replacement.

Nothing appears in view finder or on screen when recording

I HAD THIS PROBLEM ERROR CODE C31 : 22 WOULD COME UP AND TRV 118 CAM WOULD NOT WORK. I TRIED EVERYTHING TILL ONE DAY I BANGED IT ON A CARPETED FLOOR ON THE BOTTOM OF THE CAMCORDER 5 TIMES QUITE HARD. THEN THE CAM WORKED JUST FINE! MY CAM HADN'T WORKED FOR OVER 7 MONTHS. NOW I HAVE IT BACK. HOPE THIS HELPS SOMEONE.

White Spot

If this white spot is always exactly the same, but moves off the picture when you start to digital zoom and not optical zoom, there is probably something on the sensor. You mentioned that when zooming, eventually it moves. Are you in digital zoom mode at that time? (The switchover from optical to digital zoom is automatic, but you can disable it). Is this white spot blurry or sharp? Can you see fringes of the image at the edges? (This would suggest something on the lens).
If there is a piece of dust inside the lens ,you may be able to see it looking down the lens. How big is this spot?
Either way, if the camera is new, can you still return it?

Sony cam recorder - wont record

Haggai, There's a problem on the CCD Imager Processor,it is located inside, exactly behind the lens,if you're not qualified tech.not try to open it,bring it to SSC (sony service center) Fred Loja

Nothing appears in view finder or on screen when recording

1- record something and make sure there sound
2- playback the what you just recorded
3- if no video but sound is ok, send it back to Sony. They will fix it for free (CCD sensor is no good)

Spots on my display

There's nothing wrong with your camcorder. Cystal-shaped spots, black spots, and bright spots of light (red, green, or blue) can appear on the LCD monitor for a variety of reasons. These spots are not being recorded on your tape. But if these are distracting your videotaping, consider taking a slightly different shooting angle and the spots should go away.
