Printer installation I do not have the disk to install my HP C4180 printer to my computer. I have looked up several areas and have not been successful

go on the HP web site, click on support than choose software and driver, enter printer model, download the correct driver and install it

You can go to the HP website and download a printer driver for your printer for free. My printer is older that windows vista so I had to do the same thing when I upgraded from windows XP to Vista. The directions should be pretty straight forward on the HP website. There is a support/driver tab at the top.

You need to use the grey cd to install the software onto your Mac if you have not already done so. If you don't have the Mac CD you can download the installation software and all drivers from HP here (select your operating system first).

If you have installed it aready, try uninstalling and then reinstalling using the HP website to obtain the updated drivers etc. rather than your CD.

Once you have uninstalled the software, disconnect your printer and then restart your computer. Do not re-connect your printer until you have reinstalled the software.

To verify that the software has installed properly, look for the HP Solution Centre on your desktop, double click on the icon and check that both "scan picture" and |"scan document" are showing.

Kindly install the scanner software for printer..You just re install the driver software cd it will automatically install the missing components.

I think windows vista is not a printer driver friendly..I suggest that you use windows XP or windows 7 for your computer OS.

HP Photosmart C4180 All-in-One Printer

After download is complete unplug printer usb and install driver. The installer will tell you when to connect the printer to the computer.

Right click on My Computer then on Properties> Hardware> Dervice manager> Under Universal serial bus controler see if you see any yellow question marks.
If yes then rught click on the same a nd update the driver if it comes with any message then click on install anyway and complete all the yellow question maks untill all are cleared.
