  • Anonymous Feb 23, 2012

Thanks a lot Chester! but i should have added a little more details, actually what happens is the tv turns on then after like 3 to 4 seconds i can hear it click off.
There is not enough time for the screen to light up.
I have a power supply board coming in the mail, hope it solves the problem.
I really appreciate your response, if you have any other suggestions I would to hear from you or anyone else who experienced this problem, thanks again!

Hi!
That's a clear indication that you have a bad power supply in your TV.
If you know how to DiY...I suggest you open your TV. Locate the power supply section, it is where the end of the power plug is connected. Replace all blown or bulge or leaked capacitors with same value. That will fix your TV problem.
The hardest part is to disassembling your TV cover, cause you will need to pry off the snap in lock at the edge of your TV.

Power supply board should look like this. Examine the capacitors in the board
power clicks on then shuts off - power%281%29.jpg2_23_2012_11_31_16_am.png

After replacing blown capacitors...it should workpower clicks on then shuts off - caps%281%29%281%29.jpguploads/images/caps%281%29%281%29.jpg" alt="caps%281%29%281%29.jpg" class="h_mi" />

Things you will need.
1. A plastic flat end screw or any object with flat ends....to fry off the cover
2. Soldering iron.
3. Soldering lead
4. Soldering pump.
5. Flat and Philip Screw
6. Replacement capacitors (of same value with the blown one) that you can buy to any electronics store.

Hope it helps

Change the Sleep Button on the Start Menu to Shut Down

Want to shut down Vista with one click, instead of sleep.

Open Power Options in Control Panel

On the current plan your computer is running, click change plan settings

It will open Edit Plan Settings, find Change Advanced Power Settings and click on it.

Power Options will open, find the expandable tab that says Power Buttons and Lid, expand it.

Expand the tab that says Start Menu Power Button.

If you are running a laptop there will be two options, one for On Battery and one for Plugged in, click on the word sleep to open a pull down menu.

Click on the arrow, than Shut Down.

Click Apply and than okay. Close all Windows, Shut Down should be on the start menu instead of sleep

When I shut down the computer, power is still opperating USB ports and front button light illuminated,.

In that case you aren't actually shutting it down, you are putting it in sleep mode.
In Start > Turn Off Computer window make sure you always click on the Turn Off button but if you're in Vista or 7 pressing Start > Power sends the pc to Sleep by default. To change that to normal behaviour - the Stop button actually stops the pc - follow this:
1 - Open Power Options by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Power Options.
2 - Under the currently selected power plan, click Change plan settings.
3 - In the Edit Plan Settings dialog box, click Change advanced power settings.
4 - In the Power Options dialog box, click the plus sign (+) next to Power buttons and lid to expand the list.
6 - Click the plus sign (+) next to Start menu power button to expand the list; in the Setting list select Shutdown for the Power button. Click OK.

Hp pavilion s3015 goes to sleep at startup and does not recover

Shut down the PC by manually powering it off by holding the power button in until it is off. Start the PC. Does it boot correctly? If so, turn off all the Vista power modes.

Click on Start and in the "Start Search" block type "Power". Click on "Power Options" which should show up above the Start Search area. Put the dot in "High Performance" then click on Change Plan Settings, Change Advanced Power Settings, Click on Power Buttons and Lid, Start Menu Power Button, Click on "sleep" to reveal the other settings - select "Shut Down", then "Apply" then "OK". Close all open windows and shut down the PC using the Start button. Note the power button icon is now RED not amber as before.

Run the PC in this mode and see if the same problem occurs. If so, you have a different problem.

Computer won't power off

The most common reason for this problem is that ACPI (the Advanced Configuration and Power
Interface) isn't enabled. To enable it:
Click Start | Control Panel, select Performance and Maintenance.
Click the Power Options tab.
Select APM - Enable Advanced Power Management Support.
Click OK.
