Horizontal lines Hi there,
Hoping for some tips on a faulty TV set. We have a Philips 32PW6506 32" TV which is experiencing intermitent horizontal lines. The lines are tighly squeezed, distort the picture and move up and down the screen. Also strangley, the number of lines or the intensity seems to change with the changing picture ie if a scene changes completley, then the lines will swithch off or change.
Anyone any ideas?

Sounds like you need go this site, enter codes and re callibrate your TV to the settings.
If this does not work - then sounds like you need tv repair man replace caps or solder bad joint.

White horizontal line then the unit automatically shuts off with a led blinking on the front panel is an indication of faulty vertical deflection circuitry. The most common faulty parts is the vertical deflection IC (TDA9302H) itself. This IC is mounted on the aluminum heat sink near the flyback transformer. Hi, Lines across TV are caused by leaky condensers. Horizontal lines mean the faulty condenser causing the lines is located in the vertical section of the TV's PCB. You will most likely have to get a technician to repair it unless you are very good with electronics and soldering. Shouldnt be very expensive as the components are dirt cheap, Its just the labour cost that may be pricey. Best of luck.
Anyshop would take this under coinsignment as a bad Horizontal IC

But do not shoot the messenger, its going to need a shop, I would not recommend you opening this unit and risk a fatel shock or Death. Just the flyback transformer alone could kill you. Not to sound harsh but please understand, I do not want fixya to be on the late night news that it gave someone a solution that could have caused injury or death, if your not experienced take it to a shop. You cost if it is a IC witch it sounds like to me your looking $75-$100 parts and labor.

Hi this not horizontal this is vertical line. this means defective vertical output IC and 1.5ohms resistor, Replace the two parts then test run, and happy viewing!
Hi, I have a Philips 29PT9009/12 TV. Recently I have begun to see horizontal green lines on my tv, when either watching a dvd or watch tv. This has gotten worse and now the green lines are more visible and the background is now turned a shaded green. Please help me. Thanks in advance
