Question about JVC GR-D275 Mini DV Digital Camcorder

Hi, I have a JVC GR-D750AA digital video camera. I do not know how to download the things recorded to my PC. I have also bought the USB cable n tried but the camera USB port is not recogned by the PC. I do not have any software with the box to install n also can not find any software on the JVC website

Turn the power switch on your camcorder to "Off." Connect the USB cable that came with the camcorder to the USB port on the camcorder. If you are using the DV cable, connect one end of the cable to the computer first. Put the other end of the USB cable into the USB port on your computer. If you are using the DV cable, connect it to the camcorder. Power on your camcorder. Wait while your computer recognizes the attached JVC GR-D270U camcorder. Typically you will get a pop-up on your screen asking how you want to proceed once the camcorder has been recognized. Open your video editing software, such as Adobe Premiere, Roxie, iMovie or Windows Movie Maker. Import, or capture, the video from the camcorder to your computer using the video editing software. For example, in iMovie you click on "File," then "Import from Camera" to download the movie from your camcorder to the computer.

Please check your drivers are on the PC for your camera so the PC can see your camera connect to it, when you plug your camera into the PC USB slot you should see a message come up near the bottom right-hand corner telling you your connection has been made, if not then your camera driver is either missing or damaged, go to camera makers site and download driver again.

Just output via the AV jacks, and use a TV/Video input card or USB dongle. You can then Play the DVR, and Record on the PC, With Video Recording Software, through the Video Input. I have JVC digital video camera GR-DX37AS i have trouble in recording my files from camera to CD via USB mode . the error message shown is USB connection failure
If Your system is OK with all drivers installed, and before the trouble You have recorded to CD any video from Your camera, try to connect the cam with another USB cable. Then try to connect the cam to another usb port, or better to another PC. If the problem persist, the USB of the cam is damaged and must to be repaired in service center. Best regards.

Record directly from jvc model GR-- D370U Digital Video Camera to my pc
Sorry, but it's not possible to record directly to a PC. Windows movie maker will only record from a tape. Please use a quality cable like Belkin, I have had issues with the cheaper firewire cords.

Can't transfer video from cam to pc
You can't capture the video with a USB cable. The USB cable and software that came with the camcorder are only used to transfer still images.

To transfer video you'll need a DV cable (also known as a Firewire cable) and some additional software. I use Scenalyzer Live. It's not free, but you can download a demo copy to see if you like it before you buy it. Here's a link to the Scenalyzer website:

The download link is about half way down the left side. It's a little difficult to find, but it's there.

Lastly, all this assumes that your computer has a Firewirre port. Most new computers will have one, but if you do not you'll need to buy and install a Firewire PCI card. Let us know if you need more help.

Hi, Since videos are taped in DV format, you need a firewire card (IEEE-1394) and cable. These are cheap. May be your PC already has a firewire card. Just check. Windows XP recognises automatically the camcorder. Moreover, its integrated video capture/editing module, Windows Movie Maker, is very userfriendly.
