I Would Guess That The Drive Gear Inside Has Broken The Teeth Of It From Being Forced At Some Stage! Unless You Can Get Spares I Am Afraid It Is A Throw Away.
If you do have an adjustable carburetor, then gently close both needles and open each on 1 full turn. This should allow the engine to start and the final adjustments can be made at that point. If it still will not start then open each needle 1/8 to 1/4 turn and try again. If this still does not work then most likely your carburetor needs a good cleaning and a rebuild kit.
Hmmm could be a clogged muffler, fuel line, the carb might need to be cleaned or rebuilt or dirty fuel filter or if u have on the saw thers a low and high idle screw setting, usally on the side of the carb that might need to be adjusted.
1. Is there a Homelite/Ryobi dealer/authorized repair facility near you? If yes I'd try them they may repair it. 2. Any major chainsaw seller/repairer may be able to repair it... there will be a fee. Lou I own a few chain saws without chain brakes. I also own and use good PPE.
