Question about Samsung TXK2754 27" TV

Screen problem TV has been working fine for several years but now an opaque black box appears on the screen. I can still see the picture around the perhiphery. It's the same size and shape as the menu screen but without anything in it. Pushing the menu button on the remote or the TV will make it go away but in a few minutes it appears again. In fact, pushing any key on the remote (such as volume) will make it go away for a few minutes but it reappears again. Help!

Check captions on your menu settings it has caption 1 and 2 if it is not set on caption it could be on text which cause the black box to come on the screen turn off every thing on the caption menu.if that does not work then take you set to a tech to have it reset then it could be your eprom or your video circuit.good luck.

bfe2, check the cc settings on your tv, you might have te text feature enabled and you don't know it' this happens when thn the cc key on the remote control is pressed most of the time by accident.

use your remote then turn off the text messege of your tv.the black screen that you seen is for the messege but since their is no message written in the box ,that's why you see a black box.

Black box in front of picture
If it's the box,just press the CCD button on the controller until you see CCD off .(Try this one first since it just started with the box)

If it's the TV,just go into the setup options and turn off the closed caption feature.

This sound like a problem with the Closed Caption, on many sets if the C.C. is set to text a black box apears, and since it only happens on DVD you might look at the DVD menu and see if it has this Text featcher in the Closed Caption menu and turn it off

Green screen
No! that is difinitely not an easy fix. there is something wrong with the picture tube. it is the part that emits light and colors. you need to bring that to a local repair shop.

Sound but No Picture
Perhaps your remote is set to video recorder?  Try that first, and if no response, try calling up a menu on your TV and look for the Picture Settings.

Black box in middle of screen
You have CC (closed captioning) turned on and it is set to text mode.....Go to the menu on the remote use the right arrow and hilight "C.CAPT",use the down arrow to highlight "C.CAPT",use the right arrow and highlight "off" then exit button on remote.

your tv has a vertical problem take it to a tech to have them look at it probably on transporting the set to your house it bump around.a look on lose solder could be the problem this could be verified by a tech.good luck.you need the repairman.
