You do need to return this to the store you bought it from. I had the same problem. Although these are great clippers, my stylists and I all have the same clippers and they all do the exact same thing. It is the battery. It is very difficult to find someone to replace the batteries for you. My entire salon decided to never buy these again, because it is just to hard to find replcements and then after a few months the batteries go out again.

Return the shaver to the store from which you purchased from. It would appear that one or more of the Ni Cad batteries are no good and will not accept a charge. Have you attempt to plug the charger directly into the shaver? If not, try that and see if the shaver will run. Still your best move is to return the unit to the store as it is still under store return warranty. Dutchman

You need to fill the based to the max solution line. There is not enough solution in the container.

SOURCE: Norelco Arcitec Razor cleaning cycle does not

I have had 3 1050CC shavers all with the same problem. Apparently other models have the same issue. After about a year of use, the unit reverses after dipping the shaver into the cleaning solution for a second. Two were replaced by Philips within the 2 year warranty period. I still use the 3rd one. There are several things you can try. If the cleaning solution is low this will cause the shaver to reverse and not clean. Add more cleaning solution. I have noticed that sometimes I have to add more fluid to the unit after a week of use. Sometimes it is necessary to fill the solution a little above the max fill line. Be careful though. Filling it too much above the max fill line can cause cleaning fluid to run out of the bottom after a cleaning cycle. If the above two fixes don't work, then press the clean button and after the unit reverses back up, wait about 5 or 10 minutes and press it again and it should stay down as long as there is enough cleaning solution in the unit. If you wait too long or too little to press the button, it won't work. I have noticed if I press the button immediately after it reverses the same problem occurs. Also if I wait 30 minutes before pressing the button the same problem occurs. There must be some sort of timing cycle. You may have to repeat this process a few times to get it to stay down and clean. This is the only way I can get mine to clean now. Obviously something is getting dirty or wearing out over time in the cleaning system. Since I have had 3 shavers with the same problem, I know many others have had it too. Philips must be aware of the problem. It is frustrating that they don't offer help on their own website and consumers have to band together to solve problems that they should be solving. The two year guarantee is very generous, but there is a design flaw with this product.

Ctd80 hotpoint dryer panel flashing dryer not working

Filter at bottom of machine needs pulling out and cleaned on a regular basis. This is a common fault and the lights is telling you to clean the filter. It is a large filter that unclips at the bottom front of machine. Remove two small screws from the front of the filter located left and right and gently remove the front plate. Once removed you will see a metal filter clogged with clothing debris. Clean with cotton buds and a damp cloth till clean. replace all parts and you should have it working once again with a good heat source as well. Every 2-3 months is sufficient to keep it cleaned. Hope this helps.

Braun series 7 cleaning station has red lights even after I replaced the cleaning solution

When the razor is not regularly cleaned in the cleaning station and the hygiene indicator goes low, the cleaning station may lose its ability to sense the fluid level. I almost sent the cleaning station in for repair (mine is out of warranty) but was able to clear the faulty condition by resetting the razor's cutter replacement (holding the small recessed reset button below "Braun" logo on the razor) and unplugging/replugging the station then attempting a cleaning until it performed one completely successful cleaning cycle. After that the fluid level showed full. I also heard that the drain hole in the "cup" where the razor sits can get clogged - not sure what happens then but you want to keep that clean.
Update 2/2018: If you mix your own formula as others note, it is important to include some tap water for electrical conductivity for the fluid sensor to work.

I have a new ES-LA93 razor which I love but I have one question. After shaving I press the [SELECT] button to choose Clean/Dry/Charge. The process finishes and all seems fine but the CLEAN and DRY course...

If you clean the razor every day, the CLEAN and DRY lights flash repeatedly to show you that the cleaning has completed. You should be able to confirm that this is correct by NOT cleaning it one day. You should see that those lights don't flash then. I know this because I clean the razor twice a week rather than every day. On the days that I clean it, the lights flash. On the days that I don't clean it, the lights don't flash.

I have a Braun razor, 8585. When I connect the stand to the power, the light indicating the level of fluid come one and is accurate. When I put the razor in the stand, the charge light flickers but no...

Try removing the cord from the clean/charge base and plug the cord directly into the bottom of the shaver. If it charges directly from the cord, it is a safe assumption that the clean/charge base is not working correctly.
This unit is not repairable as the problem is, almost certainly, a faulty circuit board. You will need to purchase a replacement.
You will find a replacement clean/charge base for model 8585 at shaveroutlet.com. See link below

Norelco SmartTouch-XL razor, stopped working won't charge

It is doubtful that the battery is bad because they dont normally go bad suddenly. Usually, they will degrade slowly and hold a charge less and less before they stop working.
It sounds like you may have a loose connection somewhere. Check the leads from the circuit board to the moto and also the tabs that connect the battery to the circuit board. These sometimes break.

Cleaning glass cooktop

Hi, Any good glass/ceramic cooktop cleaner will do the job. Any grease spots or burned food spots can be scraped off with a razor scraper ( just keep it flat ) Use a couple of paper towels and put a dime sized drop of the cleaner on each burner and with a circular motion buff the top like you would wax a car, when cleaned up, flip the towels over and buff to a shine. I don't endorse any products but there are some that contain everything you need, cleaner , scraper, cloth like Ceramabrite. They can be found at most grocery, diy and some hardware stores. Good Luck!

Shaver suddenly stopped working

I had the same problem with mine right after the two year warranty expired.

BUT I FIXED IT!!!

The problem seems to be bad engineering. Apparently the cleaning solution works its way into the circuit board of the shaver.

I took the razor apart (you need very small phillips screwdrivers), there are six screws. First remove the foils, then the blades (just pull them up). Two screws are where the head rotates. after removing the head, there are two more screws underneath the head. There are two more screws on the bottom under plastic caps beside the charging terminal. You can now gently slide the razor's hardware out of the case by pulling up on the head mounting arms while holding the case as you normally would shaving. (This sounds confusing but should be obvious as you do it.)

Looking at the circuit board i noticed some white residue on the board. I gently cleaned the board with small amount of alcohol and q-tips, being careful not to catch any cotton on the components of the board. At this point you can at least confirm that the motor is not burnt out and the batteries are charged by placing a flathead screwdriver between the positive terminal of the battery and the motor. It should come on if the motor and batteries are okay.

Next you hit the reset button at the bottom-front, then see if it comes on using the on/off button. You can do this step with the razor disassembled or assembled.

Hopefully this works for you. Now if only i could figure out a way to clean and refill the cartridges instead of paying $5 for 5 cents worth of cleaning fluid.
