Maytag Neptune Dryer-stopped heating

Our Neptune dryer has stopped heating, but still turns. The sensored dry went first and now the timed dry is not heating either. Any ideas?

First, check the exhaust, make sure every inch of it is clean on the inside. if there is any blockage, the heat will build up in the exhaust and a sensor will shut down the heating element.

The gas dryer heats then does not heat. The sensor says 99 minutes to dry close. Tried it on timed heat and it dries then stops drying. Sometimes shutting off completely!

Hello,Cheack to make sure your venting is clean and clear..If its blocked the safty thermostat will shut the heat down to prevent overheating.. If the vent is clean i would check the coils. When they start to fail it will heat then not cycle back on..

Maytag Neptune gas dryer sense dry time at 99, little or no heat

If this is a gas dryer, I'd suggest an inspection by the gas company or qualified technician. If the jets aren't firing correctly, you are wasting gas and possibly creating a hazard.

Matag NeptuneDryer MD5500AWW - intermittent heat - not drying

this is joyce
It is as you guessed your sensor. it is usually located in door but some models are in back of machine on inside, go online download document papers go to maytag.com put in model# and then download your model # and it will show you where your sensor is located, it should be simple to replace. I had the same problem with my dryer.
I am glad you said you checked the dryer lines because if these get clogged up they will cause the dryer not to dry the clothes correctley. very smart....if you need me to help let me know.

thanks,

joyce
