Question about LaCie Big Disk (300872) 400 GB Hard Drive
Dear Sir; I am running a iMac G5 Mac OS system 10.4.7 and a 4 month old 400 GB LaCieDrive. At first it funcioned properly. But I had to put with Disk warrior a new Directory and my MAC HD worked fine again but not the LaCie drive. I formatted it again and it shows on the desktop, Whenever I try to copy something to it I am getting error messages. One is Error code -36 And when I tried to remove the ghost from the drive I am getting error -50. The drive does not show up with its characteristic LaCie icon. At first I got reactions like that the name of the item was to long. How can I repair this? I could not find anything in your help department. Thank you, Alex den Ouden - Bloemendaal 19 Bergen op Zoom Netherlands tel 31164263926

SOURCE: my lacie mounts on the g5 but when i click it, it doesn't open.
It would be a good idea to look at the Mac system log so from a v bad memory do...click Apple (top laft hand corner) then about this Mac then System Profiler then Logs and take a look and see what errors you are getting. If this doesnt give you any clues my advice with external disk problems is where possible to remove the disk from the enclosure and install it in the Mac. if you can, THis will eliminate the USB cable, interface, and box. See if it mounts then. If it does run disk utility to double check it but get your data off first onto the Mac. Hope this helps....Mark
