Motorola t5700 talkabout

Hi and thanks for hearing my problem. My motorola talkabout radios are not working properly. one works fine, but the other seems not to receive anything from the 1st radio. Although it makes all the beeps and sounds, and even makes the pre-sound before receiving like your about to hear the 1st radio, it just sounds real faint...very very faint. other than that, it looks like it has nothing else wrong with it. can i take it somewhere or could i open that thing up and mess with it? When I turn on both radios, I get the two tone "on" signal.  When I "push to talk" on the "good" radio, I get the short burst of static.  This does not happen on the "non working" radio. No transmission comes through on the "non working " radio.  No voice transmission can be done on the "non working" radio.

Battery hkn40028 for the motorala t5700 is nothing more than
    3 1.2v 600ma c52 batteries with a circuit hard soldered around
the batteries. Does anyone have a frame with the resistor, chip,
wherein a person can simply install three above mentioned batteries
in the frame? With the price of the hgnn40028 plus shipping its
an expense that need only be one time having a frame of the components
that 3 1.2 600ma c52 batteries can fit into. This would be a bargain
because the price of the replacement battery pak + shipping is
rather more cost than having to fit 3 batteries into a frame with the
    necessary components and connections.
Ordering the new battery pak everytime a rechargable battery fails
    is just too much bother.
    Idea here.

SOURCE: Communication problem with my brend new T5720.

I have seen some problems with new out of box radios, one of them is out of frequency and recieve with noise and works with low range coverage. I can not clarify what you mean with feed back, check if you set in low volume if the radio works fine. That will tell you that the speaker or the Synth circuitry has a problem. Neto.

T5700 and T9500 con speak between them?

Directions for programming the T5700 can be found starting on page 18 here http://www.giantintl.com/RadioPDFs/Outdated%20Manuals/T56XX_57XX_User_Manual_E.pdf

Directions for programming the T9500 can be found on page 1 under the heading MENU OPTIONS here http://www.giantintl.com/ContentManage/manuals/Moto/T9500%20FINAL%20-%20English%20only%20all%20rights%20reserved%20and%20call%20center%20email%2004-24-07.pdf

These two radios have many similar features, but some which differ. For best results leave all the special features such as Qt filter, call alert, and interference eliminator codes, turned off or set to zero until you get the radios to function in a basic mode on just the same channel as one another. Then once you've found what works, you can experiment adding special features, if desired.

Best regards.

Cant pick up on cb radio

No, T5700 radios operate on UHF FM frequencies in the 450-470 MHz range. CBs will not communicate with them.

Motorola Talkabout T5700 and Audiovox GMRS 1582CH headphones

Hi,

Unfortunately yes. More often than not the pin/wiring arrangements are different, if not the physical sizes and dimensions, not to mention electrical characteristics such as impedance, common ground, ptt and VOX feature. If it is just an earpiece or headphones that is required, then any such accessory would do and it would be a matter of replacing the plug and/or rewiring the connection points.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Motorola Talkabout T5700 and Audiovox GMRS 1582CH don't talk

Hi,

Most radios of this series would have Interference Eliminator Codes. The codes eliminate other incoming transmission not with the same code (number). There could be similar radios working on the same channel/frequency, but if they do not have the same code then neither one would hear each other. This does not make a channel "private", rather it limits what one can hear on that channel to another radio with an identical setting of the code. In some Motorola models, pressing the Menu button until the small numbers/code flashes would enable them to be changed. To change, press the + or - keys. Pressing the MON key or setting the code to Zero would enable the radio to receive and sound off all incoming signals with or without the code.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Missing recharging cord

Hello Krisso,

Your best bet is likely going to be contacting Motorola directly. Their parts department may have the charger available. Their product support number is 1-800-353-2729.

I have a problem

Hi,

Normally in a Motorola T5700, to set a specific channel to monitor (and reply to) called your working channel, you press the Menu (center) button and the current channel shown in the display will flash. Press either the + or - buttons to change to your desired channel number which should be identical to both radios. Press the PTT button to save.

Likewise, both radios must have identical Interference Eliminator Code. To set code, press Menu till the code display blinks. Press + or - to select code. Press the PTT to save. To disable the code, select 0.

Hope that this be of help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.
