I have an ASUS WL-520G, and an ASUS WL-138G V2 wireless network card. All drivers is installed. The network card can see the wireless network, but it won't connect to it. It is an open system network without wep encryption. When I click on the survey page on connect button my computer works for a while and nothing happens. I've turned off firewalls.
I have another computer it connects the wireless network.
On Status&log -> wireless page I can read this:
Mode : AP Only
Channel : 1
The first id is the computer which won't connect to the network.
What can I do?
Well since ur second computer goes online with wireless connection, so it seems the problem with your first computer. The only thing that you have to do is to update your wireless card drivers.
1. Restart your computer in safe mode with networking mode.
2. Uninstall the wireless card.
3. Restart the computer and install the card again.
This will definitely resolve your problem.

Same **** here .... All I am finding all over the internet is people complaining about this card. WTF how Asus could make such a pice of **** ??? My card sometimes connects to the router sometimes doesn't and when it does the speed it terrible really. Did almost everything with it so far nothing helped. I wonder if I can take it back and ask for money back.
I have just set up a broadband connection for some neighbours using the Thomson router and had similar problems.
Leave the computer on, power down the router, leave it for a few seconds and power it up again. It worked for me.
But it seems that we have this problem every time i,e if the router is on and you switch on the computer it won't connect, but if the computer is on and you switch on the router everything works as it should. I haven't got to the bottom of this yet.
I am buying the ASUS 4G machine and have a USB router connecting to Vodaphone through the molbile network. Without installing Windows XP can I connect the wireless modem to the little computer. Cheers Nick W
To enable WEP encryption requires configuration changes in two places the router (WL-520G) and for the network adapter on the associated with the computer expecting to use the wireless router. Do you both believe you made the appropriate changes to both devices required? The router and the computer
Another possible issue is either the router or the network adapter do not support WEP meaning the option is not possible at all.
Remove the card and install in a different pci slot,it may be a problem with the way windows is giving the pci slot the startup request.
Just also double check that the correct driver is being recognised and not a windows generic driver.
Look in device manager on hardware tab and see if there is a 'x' or an exclamation mark (!) against the wireless card.
