Zenith 60'' LCD TV a blue screen is not sky blue it looks dark blue to black

The top two corners are the correct blue color but the rest of the screen is dark blue. Also because of this the white has a yellow cast to it. I dont know it something moved during the move or if there is a bad part. the optical engine has all the mirrors is there some thing to adjust or clean in there. Any ideas would help.

    Our 51" Zenith LCD picture quality is now poor. The whites have become yellow and the quality of the color isn't like it used to be. I played with the settings but no improvement.

    blue haze screen. Started from teh corners now the whole screen is bluish.... Can this be fixed?

    I have a Zenith 52in rear projection LCD and the screen slowly faded blue all over. It started with one "pixel" and over about six months, practically the whole screen turned blue.

    I HAVE THE BLUE shadow over most of my screen and am going to wait on the Lawsuit/Settlement with LG as they are going to replace the "light engine" or replace the set as per the settlement when it is final in the courts shortly with no charges to the consumer. Mine is a Zenith 52'' WLCD model. I know I'm going to wait it out> Luke

Go to zenith.com, look under the service icon at the top and then you should see a listing for "Class Action Lawsuit/Settlement". If you follow that link, they'll have specifics listed for this suit that was brought against them (including tv model #s included in the suit). There was an agreement reached to fix/replace affected t.v.s, court date was in Feb. I believe, and just waiting now until they post information on how to proceed.

Hello,
I was unaware of a "Class Action Lawsuit/Settlement" on a Zenith LCD TV that I purchased. I never received a notice from the Law firm or the Manufacturer. I only discovered the lawsuit, after I developed a problem with the TV and decided to do a google search. I did not respond and make a claim within the 120 day period that the lawsuit/settlement was settled. Apparently my problem developed 28 days AFTER the Claim date expired. When I contacted Zenith, I was told that they would not repair the unit because I did not respond in time. Since there was an inherent design flaw that caused my issue and I was not served with any paperwork and was unaware of the lawsuit/issue-do I have any recourse. It is a $5400 TV and the repair cost is $3000. It seems unfair.

[email protected]/ solution I had the same problem with the five I have. Now, I am down to 4. Change the engine assembly. I am looking to buy some good assemblies for these zenith please E-mail me and let me know where I can get some.hope I help someone.

I doubt you will damage it unless black or bright blue on screen which could burn the image.

Before trouble shooting I would call Zenith (they are LG) and inquire if this is a known issue in this model and also if any software upgrades exist for this model.

My zenith lcd tv has horizontal black lines whih form a band about 3 inches wide across the screen, sometimes the band looks more like a dark shadow than lines other times the right side of the screen...

This is either 1 of 2 things, first it could be faulty panel tabs , in this case, there is nothing you can do and is unrepairable....2) you could take the back off the tv and you will see 2 ribbons going from your t-con board to the panel tabs (top center of tv) remove them carefully and reseat them. This is a common problem. Tv repair tech 15 years! Best of luck.

Color is fine but in top right corner have blue and yellow distortion but the rest of the screen picture is ok

The tv have a problems known as a convergence problems,it dead.Any colors lines R,G,B mis alignment anywhere in the picture screen.The tv convergence board have dead 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all it resistors are dead.These parts must be replaced on the tv convergence board to solved the tv picture convergence problems.

Zenith 44" LCD TV

The yellow spot is due to the BLUE LCD and/or lens assy cracked, reason, to much HEAT! The blue is the darkest color and hold the most heat, so it goes first, always! In some cases it’s only the lens, however most of the time LCD is damage to. Parts are available, however install and alignment is timely. Quick fix is the complete light engine, which for model# E44W46LCD is part# 3141VSN916C, which customer cost is $1,449.27, wholesale for about $1,065.21. Rebuilt, if you can find it around 850.00 to 950.00. However the rebuilt does not always look as good as factory. My advice, TRASH set. This part will fail again in about 3 to 4 years, unless you watch a lot of white video. Remember, on a black or dark picture, all three LCD are blocking 100% of the light, causing extreme heat within the light engine. It’s a bad design.

CALL ZENITH AND PROVIDE SERIAL NUMBER AND PROOF OF PURCHASE. THEY WILL SEND TECH OUT TO FIX OR REPLACE TV. THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH MANY PROJECTION TV'S BECAUSE OF A FAULTY PART.
