Washer will not fill with water.

I posted this under the wrong model number initially. When turned on my washing machine has NO water coming in at all, regardless of setting. I don't hear any sound when its on so I wondered if its the pump. I checked the hoses and the water pressure and both are fine. The rinse cylce still works if I skip to it.

Needhelp, as long as the screens are clean on the valve inlet we have two possible things that could be wrong. One would be the fill valve itself. Someone has to check to see if the valve is getting 120V during the fill. If it is and its not filling you have a bad valve. If it's not getting 120V during fill, you have a timer issue. I'm assuming that it is not filling no matter which temps selection you are using. You are going to need to have a meter to check for this voltage...Catriver...post back

Washer only fills with water

Good Afternoon Thomas, thank you for your post!

I understand your washer only fills with water. Do you mean the washer fills but then it stops operating, doesn't spin, doesn't spin, or fills with only hot or cold water? If you could elaborate on the model number and exactly what is not working on your appliance, I will be better able to assist you.

In the meantime, if your washer is in fact only filling with water but not functioning in any other way; disconnect power from your washing machine for roughly two minutes. Confirm that the door is securely latched and select a cycle. If the issue continues, it could be number of other underlying causes - it would be advisable to contact an experienced appliance repair tech to assist further.

Best regards!

Very little hot water runs in tub

you either have a problem with the house water supply going to the washer and you can remove the hot water hose from the washer, first shut down the water, stick the end of the hose inside the washer and turn the water supply back on,if the water comes out normal then you have a bad water valve on the back of the washer.call your parts store and give them the full model number off of the washer, open the lid, follow it down to the bottom and right under the bottom of the lid you'll see the model number

Leaking wash machine

Depending on where exactly the leak is coming from, it could be a drain hose, drain pump, or tub seal. If this is a top-loader, here's how you can tell:

1. If the leak is coming from the BACK area under the washer, this can be caused by a leaking fill hose, dispenser hose, drain hose, or fill valve.
2. If the leak is coming from UNDER the center area of the washer, this could be your tub seal, a crack in the tub, or an air dome hose leak. NOTE: If the air dome hose is leaking, the washer will fill continuously and not turn off.
3. If the leak appears to be coming from the FRONT under the washer, this could be your drain pump, or drain hoses.

Posting a model number, could assist with determining how your washer is configured. I suspect you may have a drain pump leaking as this is the most common cause, but I want to be sure.

Will not fill with water

It is hard to provide great guidance to you without knowing the manufacturer and model number, but I have found that some lower end washing machines will not fill or operate without the door being closed. (I know this sounds too simplistic, but this actually happened to me.)

If this does not solve your problem, please post back here and we can take the next step. OK?

Washer overfills in rinse cycle

Kp, there was some models out there that had a issue with the timer. As long as the water is stopping during the initial fill I feel safe that you can rule out the pressure switch. You have already changed the fill valve. The only other thing is going to be the timer sending voltage to the valve. Part # 3955761 this is for the washer model number ending in 50LE0. Washing machine doesn't respond to the low, medium or high water settings and keeps filling. Spin and drain cycle works. Won't stop filling and doesn't go into the wash cycle.

My GE WSM2780DAWW stack set dryer and washer was encountering the same problem (water kept filling up not stopping). I saw this page, but the SOLUTION described didn't really draw a picture for me.

Here's how I fixed the leaking washer. Sitting in front of the washer I removed two small screws on the bottom left and right of the front panel. Then sliding the front panel DOWN, it comes off. This allows a view into the machine. Around the LEFT side of the wash basin you will find a white tube. This tube is about the diameter of a pencil. My tube was not attached, and when the wash basin filled up past the point where it should stop, water came out. Reaching around the side of the wash basin with my left hand I could feel where the white tube was supposed to connect properly. Then I attached the white tube. This fixed the problem.

I left the front panel off for a day to make sure it didn't continue to leak and also for the area to dry out.
