Machine will not empty or rinse

The machine is not rinsing out the clothes. It takes in water and appears to run as normal but then it does not drain out the water. I tried using an alternative wash program and it did not take in any water. I am not certain if the problem is that its not draining or its not spinning correctly.

Mine makes this horrendous noise during the "drain cycle", I used the tube to drain the drum then opened the filter. At the back I noticed the rotor section (with the vanes) was lying to one side. It seems that it has seperated from the pump shaft. Trying to source a replacement pump is a nightmare.... no longer available apparantly.

    Any thoughts ??

I have a frigidare galaxy front load washer that will not empty the
water in the rinse/spin mode. Also when trying to start a load in
any cycle the washer will not dispense any new water. The belt is
fine, and the unit seems to turn both directions, but there is a load
humming sound coming from beneath the tub. I am not sure where to
    start in the repair process.

Water will not drain out at Spin Cycle. In fact when the water is still in it won't spin at all. However, if manually drained (by front Tube) & the spin cycle is run when the machine is empty, it will spin.

machine completes wash programme as normal - taking in water and rinseing. however on final rinse and spin it simply stops and will not go any further. I can empty manually using the front filter. have tried several wash programmes but the same thing happens.

    Hi,

My zanussi will not drain or spin. I have emptyed out the water through the front panel and checked the filter, but it still wont spin. How do i go about taking off the drain hose to see if there is a blockage, i had a look but am a novice. Should i just go ahead and start unscrewing the screws around the drain hose?

Put off the machine. After 3 or 4 minutes put the control to "spin only" & put the machine on. If this does not work you hv a drain problem which shd be checked......

Wont adavace after wash cycle like its stuck replying back

Hi just read your posting. The problem appears to be your drain pump is either blocked or faulty. If you would like I can guide you throe the removal of the pump. The reason it does not reach full spin speed is there is still water under the bowl slowing it down.It is impossible to drain the machine by hand completely. Please reply If you require extra help on the pump removal.

Machine not taking the last fastest spin to drain the water.

the problem is that your machine is not emptying the water fast enough as the machine takes in a good deal more water on the rinse. clean the filter.

Moffatt washer is washing and draining but not spinning out the clothes

All content © 2000 © 2009 Washerhelp
> Home / Repairs DIY washing machine advice (part 8) Washing machine sticks or stops mid-cycle repairs-sm.gif A very common fault on washing machines is when the program timer fails to complete the cycle and stops part way through. Many people blame the program timer for this but although it is a possible cause, there are many more likely causes for this fault. The program will stick if the heater isn't working, if the thermostat fails, if it can't fill up with cold water for the rinses, if it can't empty the water etc. There are too many possible causes of this fault to be able to give anything other than rudimentary advice. However, the common causes of a washing machine sticking that can easily be fixed are filling and emptying problems.
Check that the cold water supply is available to the washing machine, which is a common cause for sticking on rinses. If the washing machine appears to stop mid-cycle and isn't filling with water on rinses then see Washing machine won't fill with water (or no water goes into washing machine) before calling an engineer. If the washing machine can't drain the water out then it will stick on the rinses, or it will abort with an error code. If you can see water still inside the washing machine then check the following advice Washing machine won't empty water

Does washer drain before the spin cycle starts?

Normally yes. There are around 12 to 20 gallons of water in the tub after the wash cycle, which will be anywhere from 63 to 110 pounds of weight in addition to the weight of the clothes. For the machine to start the spin cycle to remove this water would place a heavy load on the motor, gearcase, pullys, belts, gears, ect. With the water drained, the load is lighter, and much easier to start spinning the excess water out of the clothes. The normal cycles are: Fill, Agitate, Drain, Spin, Rinse Fill, Agitate for rinse, Drain, Spin Cycle and off. Imagine trying to spin a 5 gallon bucket of water over your head, full of water, and then empty. Which one do you think would be easier to do? And safer for you.

Takes almost 2 hours to complete a wash cycle

Have you ever cleaned it out? Its likely due to a plugged drain, not allowing the system to drain fast enough for the normal cycle. Check out my solution on

Zanussi ZWF1437W E23

E23 indicates Drain pump faulty; Wiring faulty; PCB faulty.

The service information also says it should stop with the door open.

Unplug the appliance and manually remove the water via the filter or front drain point if it's fitted.

Drain it into a shallow dish, tighten the filter when you need to stop the water (or plug the hose if draining via a hose) while you empty the container.

Once empty, try the door again.

Take the filter out and clean out any debris in it.

Plug the appliance in and put the machine on a drain programe.

Listen/look at the open filter to check that the drain pump is running.

Bosch classixx 1000 washing machine - stops on spin

Washing machine stops at the spin cycle - light flashes. Have to drain water out manually. Happened last week and was then able to run an empty rinse cycle. Machine worked normally for another week. Same problem today but have had to drain water manually from the drum after trying an empty 90 wash and rinse cycle (both stopped on the Spin and flashed). Any ideas? Thanks. x
