Hi Rhen, I did some research and found this on avid.com: "As far as problems you will encounter, Pro Tools used to have a problem where it wouldn't work at all on AMD systems without disabling DEP In Windows. Supposedly, the problem was related to the ILok drivers, and so with these drivers http://www.paceap.com/dldrvr.html you should be fine with Pro Tools and AMD." I hope this helps.

Upgrade CPU on Matsonic MS8147C+

Unfortunately I think the Athlon XP is a 462 pin package and the MS8147C+ has a SocketA/Socket 462 socket for the CPU. The Athlon 64 3800+ is a 940 pin package and requires a AM2 socket, so this CPU will not physically fit.

Upgrade the 1.6GHz CPU on L7VMM2 Motherboard

ECS Support > L7VMM2 motherboard > Main Support page,

http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Product/Product_Detail.aspx?DetailID=419&CategoryID=1&MenuID=50&LanID=0

Click on the CPU tab.

(Features / Specification / Download / Support / FAQ / CPU / etc)

Will support Up To an AMD Athlon XP 2600+,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_AMD_Athlon_XP_microprocessors

Maximum Front Side Bus support is 266Megahertz.
(Max FSB = 266MHz)

(Motherboard manual states 133MHz.
Note that AMD processors are 'Double-pumped'.
This = 266MHz )

Supports AMD Athlon, AMD Athlon XP, and AMD Duron, processors.

Note in the CPU Support chart where it states -
Socket 462 > AMD Athlon XP > 2600+ (.13u)
The .13u stands for 130nm core architecture technology.

(nm = NanoMeter.
1 Billionth of a Meter )

NOTE*
For the Socket 462 (Socket A) processors, the AMD Athlon XP models are the top of the line.

'Sempy', or Sempron processors are at the bottom.
Low L2 processor memory cache compared to Athlon XP or Duron models.

Where can I get a sr1030nx AMD procesor. On the side has a no. 27493. Assembled in Malaysia

It's an AMD XP 3000+ made in a socket A configuration. It's an extremely old model, the only source for another one are sites that sell second-hand parts, like Ebay.

AMD Duron 1.0G, 1.1G, 1.2G, 1.3G (Morgan)
AMD Duron 1.4G, 1.6G, 1.8G (Applebred)
You motherboard uses a "Socket A" CPU and therefore has limits to how high you can go.. I would recommend the XP 2200 or 2400+ as a good choice, but you can make your own choice.
