Handing Problem We upgraded our network to 100mbps with 5 Nos. of 3com4228g. Any one of these five switches starts hanging without giving any information. After few time other switches also gets hanged. All users connected are not getting connectivity, cannot access switch through web interface or telnet. Port LEDs are blinking normal manner. Restarting the switch also not helping, we have to remove all connections, wait a few minutes, connect one by one, and then some times it will start working. After some weeks This will happened mostly occurred after generator switch over. We are facing this problem at least once in every month/week inside our organization. - No heavy broadcast found from any client. - UPS already placed with all switch

What is routing loop?

A routing loop is a condition in which a packet is continuously transmitted within a series of routers without ever reaching its intended destination network. A routing loop can occur when two or more routers have routing information that incorrectly indicates that a valid path to an unreachable destination exists.
The loop may be a result of:
Incorrectly configured static routes
Incorrectly configured route redistribution (redistribution is a process of handing the routing information from one routing protocol to another routing protocol and is discussed in CCNP-level courses)
Inconsistent routing tables not being updated due to slow convergence in a changing network
Incorrectly configured or installed discard routes

Reset speed from 10Mbps on 100Mbps (D-Link DE-1824i)

Tony,  I was looking at the specs and found these lines :- Choices of 12 and 24 10BASE-T ports per hub
1 100BASE-TX port (for connection to 100BASE-TX hubs) Which is saying that the user/pc ports are fixed 10Mps and there is one 100Mbps uplink port to connect two hubs together.

If other computers are working perfectly then try it by replacing your network card.

you can also try it by changing the Lan card slot before replacing it with a new one..

Itunes stops

This could be a lot of things, but I would wager it is the result of network traffic congestion, if this is truly being used for a WiFi network... First thing to troubleshoot this would be to take the WiFI out of the mix and just use a hardwired solution to see if it still hangs.. if so, then the problem may be drivers for your system, and you may need to upgrade them..

May even be software.. might try seeing if any newer versions of your player are available.
