Hi,
Most of the mobile don't need softwares to be installed for transferring pictures to computer from it. Just connect your mobile to computer and select something like "Mass storage mode/ pen drive mode", if prompted anything in your mobile. You should be getting extra pen drive like removable drives in your my computer and all your pictures can be accessed via it.
If still you couldn't succeed, then you can remove the memory card from your mobile and connect it to your computer using any memory card reader and can transfer your pictures easily.

what's the brand of the phone? normally every brand has its own way of connecting to the computer. nokia for instance uses nokia pc suite as a sync application. normally a cd with compatible software is delivered with the phone. if you don't have the cd, you can download the soft from the manufacturer's web site. install this software first and wait for the soft installer to ask you to connect the phone at the right moment to make a valid synced connection between the pc and the phone...

u must hav got a usb cable with the phone... connect the phone to pc using the cable..... ur pc will show new device found...go to my computer..removable devices..browse ur phone memory card and copy the files from..

if u dont hav a usb cable u can use a blutooth device also...

You have to reset the phone to factory settings. Your phone might of have a reading problem and in order to correct this you need to write 3845#*990# then factory reset . This will reboot the cell phone and restore it to default settings. Oh before you do this open your Lg pc Suite and do a backup of your ringtones photos music...etc... so that you can restore that later... hope this was helpful... Please rate if I helped you.

try to go in control panel of ur pc then modify/repair the lg sync if it works then good otherwise try to update the version...

You might gat help using a company called "mark-space software" we used it to sync a windows based GPS, it works well.
