My washer keeps showing an F11 code during the regular cycle. My door lock light is off but the door won't open. I called for service and they said it would take a week. I have a washer full of clothes. My manual says F11 is an electrical problem. What is the electrical problem and why won't they tell me over the phone. Please help.
Riostar, F11 is a serial communication error. Communication between the main board and the motor control board is not being sent correctly. This could be a bad main board, motor control board or motor itself. The testing can get pretty involved. Try putting the machine in a self test mode and see if the error clears. Press Cancell, then by pressing the drain spin button once on the left side then move to the spin speed button the the right. Press this button until no-spin lights. Press the prewash button 4 times. C00 should appear in the display. Let it run it's tests, there will be 8 of them and end up on C08. If this doesn't work, it's best you wait for the service tech. Catriver...post back.
I found that the vibration of the machine caused the relays in the motor control to malfunction causing the code to be thrown. It has happened many times to my machine and was always during or shortly after the spin cycle. I took the top cover off the machine and hung the motor control with wire zip ties so it was allowed to "float". I have done at least a hundred loads since, without a problem. I recommend someone to try this if their machine is out of warrenty before calling in a service tech.
Contact Fretting
The problem appears to be contact fretting and is very easy to fix.
It costs next to nothing and only takes a bit of work. Please see my

Get a clamp and put it over the ccu unit on the right side and securerly clamp the bottom and top shut. This worked for me. No more horror beeping sounds! No more banging the unit!
This worked for me. However, I had a load of clothes in the washer when I tried it the first time, and it would not work. When I unloaded the washer and did the self test, it worked perfectly. I was able to finish the load of clothes without a problem. THANK YOU!!! Cindy
The f 11/dl problem appeared after my son put a lot of detergent in his loads. Unplugging the machine to reset the alarm helped, but the problem persisted. During the self diagnostic, I notice suds in the water, even though it had gone to a second rinse prior to the test. A suggestion to use minimal of detergent, and leave the door open after the last load.

Problem F11 is intermittent. Sometimes, dl code shows up. Sometimes the machine will not start and a clicking sounds begins. or it my beep in the middle of a cycle and show F11.
My washer keeps throwing out the F11 code. I have done the test mode and it only gets to CO1 and then it shuts off and flashes the F11 again.
