The microwave shuts off. Completely, no beep nothing. When it counts down it will run for 22 second then the screen, lights everything shuts off. I can hit quick cook or the keypad and the numbers will show up, but when I run it again it will stop after 22 seconds every time. If I run it under 22 seconds it will run full cycle.
The only thing we use it for is to heat up food, thaw and my wife purposely makes slightly burnt popcorn in it. Don't ask, it's the way she likes it.

Re:
Time to buy a new microwave as it sounds as if the control panel is defective. A new control panel for this micro will run about 95 to 120 bucks + labor depending on where you buy it. I happen to like slightly burnt popcorn as well!! Nothing wrong with thats, as they say great minds think alike.

There might be a problem with door switch for your microwave to be turning off after 3 seconds and the door switch will need replacement on your microwave.
When a Panasonic Inverter Microwave shuts off after a feew seconds, it is either a bad inverter which is the quite expensive circuit board that powers the magnetron that puts out the microwave energy, or a bad magnetron, Or BOTH typically this would be a costly repair, But since it is still under warranty. You need to find a Panasonic warranty service provider in your area. If it is a counter top unit, you may have to take it to them for repair.
Otherwise, if the internal cooling fan is not running when you are cooking, it will shut down after 30-60 seconds or so and stay off until it cools back down.

I have a jvm1090aw microwave oven and for some reason it just stopped working. It will still count down the timer but it won't light up and turn on. Also there is a small microwave icon flashing at the bottom right of the screen. Any ideas? Today I tested it again and started it for 30 seconds. The first 8-10 seconds nothing but silent counting down then it turned on for the last 20 seconds. It then turned on again when I tried it immediately after that but nothing 5 minutes later.
My unit shuts off after about 2 seconds. It seems like it tries to go, but it sounds like it stops working and then 1 or 2 more seconds run off and it shuts down. Then you hit start again and it lights up inside and then shuts down. It's only about 2 or 3 years old.Any solutions?
If
the digital programmer circuit / controller does not get a feedback
signal from the inverter for a period of 3 seconds, the controller will
stop the cook cycle.
The oven will also strop after 22 seconds if there are certain problems with the inverter or magnetron.
In most cases, this is a problem with the inverter or a bad magnetron.
Due to the lethal voltages used and produced, I do not recommend that an inexperienced person work on these.
I haven't had it that long.............really a poor product............exactly 22 seconds..........doesn't even get hot for the first 22 seconds.....
