Deal with this problems before.Sorry,tv some how the plasma screen itself,it is shorted and plasma screen it is dead. This problems ur tv have it is nothing to do with it elctronics boards problems. This tv it not repairable except by replaced the whole plasma screen as u know the screen are 90% important to tv and in limited in production by the tv corporation.Nowhere to buy the screen, but except the tv corporations themselves.By replacing the plasma screen, will cost the same as a new tv.
I believe that you are experiencing an intermittent problem with what's called your florescent lamp ballast. The best thing is that it can be repaired/fix. There should be a LG repair shop in your area. Cheaper to bring it in than have a service tech come to your residence. Should be between $200 to $300 for a repair. Blessings, A/V Media Guy
Find out if Australia uses a different standard of HD programming than Guernsey or not since it's not picking up any channels at all with an attenna. Does the skybox use only scart connections and that's how your small lcd is connected to it?
Hi, The boards responsible for sending signals to your plasma screen has gone bad. Technically speaking, the Y SUS, Z SUS and the Y Buffers are suspect. Sometimes, owners heard a popping sound then the display will go away leaving only sound. It's an expensive repair that can go upwards of $500. Fortunately, LG typically has two (2) years parts and labor warranty for their big screen TVs. LG has a strict repair turn-around time so call it in and you'll have your TV fixed in no time... (realistically, 5-7 days). Best Regards
YES YOU HAVE DRY JOINTS UNPLUG FROM POWER SUPPLY REMOVE THE BACK/ INSIDE YOU SHOULD SEE AT THE BOTTOM SEVERAL RIBENED CONECTORS FROM THE SCREEN ITSELF? UNDERNEATH YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO SEE 2 OR 4 COMPONENTS CAREFULLY APPLY A HOT SOLDERING IRON AN SOLDER THE ONE THAT YOU ARE HAVEING PROBLEMS YOU SHOULD NOW HAVE FULL PICKTURE AGAINE ANY PROBS email me [email protected]
If the Video (Picture/Pix) is gone but you can hear the Audio (sound), then it could mean the YSUS PCB Assembly is gone/kaput/finish. Can replace the PCB, not repair the PCB due to timing circuitry involve. Cost maybe roughly $500 depending where you located. The PCB is located on the left hand side of your TV when you are facing the back (Back open). Might find 3-4 brown flex membrane connecting to the plasma panel. The PCB has a silver or black aluminum heatsink (big) on it. Good Luck.
The speckling is caused by the CTRL board. The firmware needs to be updated. Unfortunately LG does not provide a media slot for downloaded upgrades. You must order an install the factory updated CTRL board located between the power and the Y sustain boards.
