First of all clean out all your cookies. Then make sure your virus protection is up to date. Make sure you have a spyware program running if you have windows xp and use AD Aware Se to help clean out ads from your computer that you do not need. Viruses spys and ads all cause alot of trouble for some computers. Also SP2 is a must if you are running win xp with all the 90 or more updates to help you stay safe on the net.

98% of the time a computer well lock up because of memory switching which can be called "Page Files" The computer can be max out on memory but if the Page Files setting is not right it well lock up. You can change the settings or remove some programs that is running in the back ground. If you look at the lower right hand of you screen by the clock every little icon is running in the back ground you don't see plus the operating system it self has a total of 46 programs running to that you never know about the system was made to do that.

Angie, I would not use your restore cd, unless you want to lose everything you have installed on your computer. Go to start, programs, accessories, system tools, system restore. Make sure the "Restore my computer to an earlier time" is selected and click next. Select a date when your computer was working perfectly (usually just a day or two earlier) and click next again. This will restore your computer back a few days when you had no problems. Great feature that I have used several times. If you need any additional information or help, please let us know. Best regards, nightdiver

Have you rcently installed something that could be causing the issue? Without knowing exactly what happened prior to the problem, I would recommend using the Restore CD that came with your computer. That should solve you issue. It takes normally anywhere between 30 minutes to 2 hours, but it might save you time in the long run from troubleshooting. Just remember to save anything on your computer that you need that wasn't there when you got the computer to a cd or disk before you do the restore.
