Question about GE WBXR2090B Top Load Washer
We have a ge washer it will be running then all of asudden it will go into lockup mode and just click back and forth. like it will buck back and forth, like it is hanging up. you can sometimes turn it off and back on and it will work for a while 2 or 3 minutes then go to bucking again and the motor does feel warm so i don't know it is fairly new unit few years old. also the agitator only moves one way freely when unit off the other way is tight. is this right. thanks scot [email protected]
Scot, it almost sounds like you have a motor issue here. Does the machine go through the spin cycle o.k.? If you are handy with a meter, remove the front panel, push in on the clips on each side of the top with a puddy knife and the panel should come off. On the motor harness there should be a white and white/red wire. If you have a steady, not fluctuating, 120V during this bucking, it's more than likley your motor. If the voltage is fluctuating, it would be a timer issue. You also want to make sure you have nothing caught under the agitator, this will pop right up with a good tug. Catriver, post back.
