Picture and menu are the same. Aligned on right and left but everything sags in the middle.

I am trying to help my kids by seeing if we could fix this TV. We have called multiple TV repair places and they won't even come out and look at it when we tell them the brand and model number. It was working fine and then one day just crapped out. The picture and menu look like your seeing it trough one of the wavy mirrors that they have at the circus. I think this is convergence, but not sure. I have struggled thru the menu to get manual convergence up on the screen, but none of the arrow buttons seem to respond when I press them. I thought that I could manually line the crosses back up. Please help.

Your going to have to replace the convergence IC's(two). Its a dangerous job if you have no training with tv sets. Please try to find a tech who will assist you in this repair.

Sharp lc-55n7000u half screen upside down

Hi,

There should be a setting on your TV that is called Picture Flip. See if you can access it with your Sharp remote (not a Universal remote)

Press MENU
Scroll left or right to SETUP
Scroll up or down to PICTURE FLIP
Scroll up or down to STANDARD
Press ENTER
Press MENU
That should turn your picture normal. Let us know if it worked.

Hi, Screen says (cable stretched). No picture. Lines start from both upper corners and then sag in the middle? All three bulbs are on. Sound works butis all ststic. Thanks Steve

If it looks 3D or warped it sounds like your convergence has failed and needs to be repaired. Once quick test is to goto your convergence menu and see if you can adjust red and blue. If not its has failed and needs to be fixed. You can call in a repair shop or you can get the parts and instructions from www.TvRepairKits.com and do the repair yourself. Its a fairly easy DIY fix.

My 1989 f-250 has the twin I beam and leafs up front and the suspension sags causing the front tires to kick out like a stadium truck. Is there a kit to fix this???

you can have it aligned and they will use a off set cam at upper ball joint to realign front end if it is not real bad, but the right way to fix it would be to replace the springs and then have it aligned. hope this helps.

The screen seems to have two of the same image, green and red.

Yes.
The fix is to replace the two Convergence IC's( STK392-110's) with STK392-150's. They are located to the right side of the chassis and mounted to large heat sinks. Be also on the look out for some burnt resisters and or discolored resistors that failed becuase of the IC's failing. These would be located just to the left of the heat sinks. If they are burnt or severly discolored, you will need to replace them with the exact valued resistors. In this high current circuit it is a must.
I hope this helps,

Focus problem, see Green and Red misalignment;

this could be caused by the loss of the power to the converge circuit or the failure of the converge chips-stk-xxx-xxx if the problem pops in and out it's a connection problem.

Blue convergence problem

The most likely cause is shorted convergence chips and possibly a few pico fuses.

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony,Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic,Akai,Pioneer2_bing.gif Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Zenith and others.
You can get a convergenece repair kit with instructions from the links below.

Here are some of the most common problems with these sets...

Problem #1) Convergence

Yours may have one or more of the following symptoms...

*Screen Looks 3-D
*Colors wont align
*Screen may look distorted or warped
*No Audio/Video - TV Shuts down - May also make a constant chirping sound

Problem #2
Another common problem is dull or washed out video.

Your set may have one or more of the following symptoms....

*Dull looking picture
*White looking picture
*Halos around objects
*Red/Orange looking picture
