Recently my phone was open and was snapped back by a very nasty person.
since then my screen is bland sometimes though it has pink and yellow lines down it or a blue square. everything else on the phone works i can call in, receive calls and play music etc. but i have no display screen. it is also odd that the front minni screen still displays the time dat and battery meter.
please help me fix it asap beacause it will cost me over 100 dollars to fix and i really dont have the money and i LOVE my phone!
a friend told me to take the phone apart clean it, put it back to gather and push on the screen and play around with the back while its turned on but that didnt work

Sadly, this phone has lots of problems, both hardware and software. I bought this and its one of the worse mistakes I did in the last 2 years. I used mine for less than a week and it went back to the service center becasue the screen used to go bland and the camera used to work and sometimes not.
You have no other choice but to send it for repairs. There are no possible repairs as most of the handsets are being replaced at the service centers. Very disappointed. Now I am without my phone for a whole 10 days. Nokia we need more software updates now to solve all the problems especially the weak and blurry camera ever seen on a mobile phone.
Your screen's digitizer may be messed up. Take it in for repair, fixes like this are often too tedious to be done by a normal person, and it'll void your warranty to fix it, if relevant.
Well the signal appears even if the sim is removed, because that phone is locked in with the service you currently get it from. First, check the sides for flaps or anything that opens out, because i have a Nokia and that's what it does, along with many touch screen and large screen phones. But most phones have a removable back cover. But beware. the prongs that hold it on can easily snap off, so i wopuld take a look at t=where it might slide or pop off from first.
May I recommend ensuring you are running the most recent system software and firmware for your BlackBerry Bold 9700? This will ensure as many bugs as possible have been worked out of the phone you are using.
Seriously, sometimes if you have the other person yell, it will just magically "pop" back in. THis only lasts a few minutes though. Unless you can deal with speaker phone, I suggest a new phone.
One of your door (or trunk) switches may have failed that controls the warning 'chime.'
Another possibility; if you have anything weighing a couple of pounds on an unoccupied seat, it may think there is an 'unbelted' passenger in that position.
You can try to locate a defective door switch by opening one door at a time, locating the switch button (look for it on the door frame) and depress it, letting it snap back out.
Sometimes the switch contacts geet contaminated or corroded and letting the button 'snap' out can shake the contacts enough to restore electrical contact.
the problem is with the vertical deflection circuit of your receiver. yes you're right sometimes the cause is a capacitor in that circuit. sometimes its an ic which responsible for vertical output and there are many more. so, i suggest that you bring it to a technician if you are not inclined with this job.
