About 6 months after I bought it my W5 the flash started to show up problems. Pictures taken winth flash either come up to bright or to dark.
As far as I have noticed, the first short flash used by the camera to estimate the optimal flash level comes up totally ou of the time, confusing the sensor. With pictures without flash the camera works fine.
Is it a problem in the flash controller (if such thing even exists)? Can I fiz it myself?

Re: Flash doesn't work as it should
in order to repair your camera the IC851 is to be replaced. This integrated circuit is used for flash control.
Please do not try to fix it yourself. Contact your nearest Authorized Sony Service.

Could be your camera is still working, but some settings are messed up?
You could have turned off the display. In the menu with IMAGE DISP. Is used to save battery power.
Then try making pictures in the mode automatic. Because if you switched to scene like bright sunlight or snow your pictures can be very dark.
The range on your pop up flash is only about 15 feet, if your subject is further than that they will be underexposed. Try bumping up your ISO, also you can increase your flash exposure compensation by as much as two stops.
the image in the LCD monitor will darken in strong sunlight or bright light. This is normal occurrrence in device CCDs and does not contitute a malfunction. This image will not be recoded when shooting still photos, but it will be recorded wihen shooting movies.Read you owner manual and adjust the MENU, according with your o. manual.Otherwise you must go the repair shop God bless you

Your Polaroid Fun! Digital 320 camera does not have a flash. If pictures are coming out dark, it's because there wasn't enough light in the surroundings when the picture was taken.
Remember, it's important to take photos in brightly lit surroundings.
When taking pictures indoors, make sure that the room has bright lighting. For best results, take pictures during daylight hours with a combination of indoor and outdoor light, preferably near a window.
