I got a Zen Nano Plus 512MB and when I press the on button it only gets past the Creative logo and the Zen Nano Plus Logo then there is a pause and finally it shuts down. In addition, my computer won't recognize it. I have technical expirience but not enough to try this on my own so hpefully you could help me out. Thanks.

I'm having a slightly more advanced case of this problem... it plays, but the songs are completely chopped up and it only plays 2 out of about 100 songs. I had a problem with this player before, where it would lock up at the "Creative" logo screen. I solved the earlier problem by killing Explorer or otherwise disabling the autorun process, plugging it into my computer, then running the Creative Zen Nano (in your case, Plus) firmware updater. It found my player (thankfully!), and I checked "Format data area" and had it update the firmware. When it was done, I was left with a blank, but working, MP3 player. I'm currently retrying the same solution on the similar problem... but it's going very slowly. :(
Recommend you take a look at this Creative MP3 PLayers FAQ site, it has a lot of info. BTW, I have the Nano (but not Plus) and I think the reset-switch hole they refer to is next to the USB connector on mine.

I do have the same problem. When i turn it on ti would simply turn 'ON' and on the screen it would write CREATIVE, and nothing could be done. no buttons work at all! please help!!
Down load and start firmwere update, when program is looking for the unit, remove battery, press and hold down the on button, attach to computer, it should start from there. It worked for me.
Press and hold the Play button while powering on your player.
When the player displays the Creative logo, release the Play button.
It will display the following options:
Clean Up
Scans the player and removes invalid links from its music library.
Does not affect music files themselves.
You could try reflashing the firmware onto the player. Go to www.creative.com and look for the support section. Search under downloads for firmware for your player and download that. Follow the instructions on the website.
here is a fix if your creative zen nano plus just hang on the creative logo when you turn your player on.
download, Creative ZEN Nano Plus firmware.
you can find it at the creative website, download section.
double click the file you just dl'ed, now make sure your
zen nano player is already connected to your pc when you run the file. it may take a bit of time before your pc can detect your zen nano be patient, a window prompt will soon appear asking if you want to update your firmware with the one youve just dl'ed.
now, dont worry if the firmware is the same as the one already
installed in your zen nano, just continue with the update.
you can also check the box in which there is the option of also formatting the drive. ( note: all files in your zen nano will be lost)
after the firmware is flashed you can now play and transfer files to your zen nano plus.
