I suggest you charge the battery overnight and in the morning if the LED does not change color then the Red LED on the charger only indicates that there is mains power to the charge adapter.

if it has a power but not responding, there's a problem on the mechanical that makes the lenses move forward. try to service it.

Yeah kind of talking to yourself, but I'm listening. It very well could be the internal battery. The bad thing is it's in a location that you shouldn't attempt yourself. Find somebody in your area that sevices these and take it to them. I'm sorry this wasn't an easy fix.

try resetting the camera once ... remove the batteries and press the power button for few seconds and put ur batteries back !!

You should go to a camera repair shop in your nearest city.

I suggest that you purchase another camera, because the price of the repair will be beyond the cost to replace the camera. You might be able to buy a second hand G500 on ebay.

your lens mechanism is stuck up! try pulling the lens with slight force, if you are lucky the culprit that is blocking the mechanism will get loose. If you are not lucky theres no way you can remove or fix the problem than sending it to the authorized service center. =-( All digital cameras has a a life expectancy of around three years, or 5000 shots.
