SOURCE: connecting lg tv to two external speakers
Yes,
depending on how many speaker you intend to run will determine the type of amp you will need. Set the output on the source unit to optical out. Connect the optical cable to the amp. Connect the speakers to amp. turn them all on and select the iput of the source unit on the amp and enjoy.
good luck

SOURCE: LG tv sound quit - will it work if I add external speaker system
Maybe!! It depends on where the audio sys failed. If it failed at the output drive, then you can take the audio off at the audio output jack and input it to your stereo system where there is an audio input. You'll need a cable with RCA jacks on it for this.
If your system is muted for some reason, this may not work.
SOURCE: I have a 37" flat panel tv that works great.
Hi, There is no setting for that. When you plugged it in it turns off the speakers. This is normal for that to happen. If you set up your TV with a stereo or home entertainment system you may then do that. Good luck.
