SOURCE: connecting lg tv to two external speakers

Yes,
depending on how many speaker you intend to run will determine the type of amp you will need.  Set the output on the source unit to optical out.   Connect the optical cable to the amp.  Connect the speakers to amp.  turn them all on and select the iput of the source unit on the amp and enjoy.
good luck

SOURCE: LG tv sound quit - will it work if I add external speaker system

Maybe!! It depends on where the audio sys failed. If it failed at the output drive, then you can take the audio off at the audio output jack and input it to your stereo system where there is an audio input. You'll need a cable with RCA jacks on it for this.
If your system is muted for some reason, this may not work.

SOURCE: I have a 37" flat panel tv that works great.

Hi, There is no setting for that. When you plugged it in it turns off the speakers. This is normal for that to happen. If you set up your TV with a stereo or home entertainment system you may then do that. Good luck.

My rca hdtv model hd52w67 has picture but no sound

The model indicated rarely has sound problems.

General things to check:

If using a cable or sat box is sound muted or turned way down?

In set menu are speakers on or off?

Some versions have a slide switch either on the back or in the menu for internal or external speakers.

Does the set have sound with a DVD etc hooked to a rear input?

If no sound only on a few channels SAP may be on either in the set or a box.

If none of these help it has a audio circuit problem.

Hi plz help me i am using IBM r51 laptop which has all drivers but not able to get sound of it. but when i connect a headphone i can get sound of it. but my laptops speakers r working as i tested mt...

ibm sound card is not faulty, because you are getting sound with your head phone. The head phone jack have two functions 1. to give output to head phone 2. to disconnect internal speakers when you plug in head phone.
The jack for headphone in normal position not give connectivity to internal speakers.
SOLUTION : REPLACE THE HEADPHONE JACK.
I think it will help you.

How do I conect external radio/speakers to my lg 42lh40-ua

There are many options here. Most HDTVs today have analog audio and digital audio output jacks. You can use RCA audio cables or a 3.5mm connector, whichever your HDTV has to connect the analog stereo output of the TV to any number of devices such as a stereo/amp which has speakers attached. You could also connect an FM transmitter to the TV and send the audio wirelessly to a nearby FM radio, boombox, portable etc. Most HDTVs today have a digital audio output, typically optical, which uses a digital audio cable ($15) to connect to a surround sound receiver. You can also connect the stereo analog output jack on the TV to a 2.4GHz transmitter and receiver speaker combo to get wireless audio outside, in a swimming pool and so forth, all around the house using wireless speakers. These setups usually cost around $150 or so. Look for the jack on the TV labeled AUDIO OUT and see if it is the white and red 2 jack ports or the smaller 3.5mm single jack port. Adapter cables are available at Radio Shack for around $10 should you need them. So you see the options are almost endless.

Do the TV speakers have to be off in order to produce a signal through the digital audio output jack?

No, you usually turn off the internal speakers if you are using stereo receiver for TV sound.

My picture is fine but I have no sound at all

If this tv is a couple of years old   it may need a sound chip replaced  or the tuner box needs to be resoldered or replaced   many new electronics have to be resoldered because of poor manufacturing techniques.   If it is new and you have a dvd player, satellite receiver, cable box etc hooked up you may need to play with different remote controls until the blocking device is unblocked  or the wiring may be slightly wrong

No audio from cable through surround sound

you have to go to the setup for the TV audio and change it to audio out, not speakers.
