I have a thin bright white line, horizontal,no picture
Hi. There is no picture but a bright horizontal line, and does not appear to have sound. I put a DVD in my player and I have sound but still a bright thin [1/8th inch],horizontal. This Jensen cost about $ 200.00 new,so comprable sets cost the same....should I "#%* can" it and get a new one? This was built in June 05. Thanx for your help...I think I know the answer. Al Lorenger

The thin horizontal line is due to Vertical failure. It could be a faulty vertical output IC, or the Power supply to the veretical Output IC could have failed. As for #%@* canning the set, if you know solid state electronics, i suggest you try repairing the set. Otherwise, get a new one.

I had the same issue with the white horizontal lines with myCanon Powershot series camera too. When taking pictures, I get the horizontal lines. In daylight, I almost cannot see the pictures because it gives me very bright output. In darker areas, the picture can still be toleratedbut white lines are still there. Although when I am taking a video, the quality is good.
