Question about Yamaha HTR-5990 Receiver
When i hook up the Yamaha HDMI to my DVI projector I get a HDMI error and my screen flashes and I also get a loud continuous beep from my speakers...my Projector is HDCP compatiable... I also have a HDMI Samsung HD 960 DVD player for the imput. I unpluged the dvd player still get a HDMI error.. so I unpluged the HDMI cable that was going to my projector Beep stopped and hooked up my cd player and it rocks.. but won't work correctly with projector.. can you help.. PLEASE.. Thanx in advance

Did you try going thru the setup portion of the owners manual? IF you need the manual you can get it online free. I realize sometimes people read the manuals and don't understand the technical jargon. that's the way it's designed. the hdmi gives control to the projector.

Is it going into protect mode???
If so, check your speaker connections. Make sure there are no loose copper wires hanging out, and that your splices are clean at both the receiver and the speaker.

You probably need to take that issue up with the setup of the unnamed device originating the signal.

SOURCE: what model of remote comes with this yamaha htr
The HTR-5990 comes with 2 remotes; RAV-356 for the main and RAV-21 for Zone 2.
