A310 shows USB icon on powerup

My A310 camera (now about 2 years old) has suddenly developed a problem...on powerup, it shows USB/DSC icon even when not cnnected to PC. I connected the camera to PC and turned it on; the PC reported 'unrecognisable/malfunctioning USB device'. Request help on how I can fix the problem. Thanks a lot in advance.

Nothing for you two and at this age the cost a repair will be well on the way to the price of a replacement. Get the new camera

I have a Sony Cyber-shot Super Steady Shot DSC-T10. I have 2 babies under 2 years old and every time they are doing something adorable I can't get the shot because my delay on my camera is so long they are...

It seems the Red-eye reduction feature of the flash is ON. In this mode, the camera emits a pre-flash and then the actual flash discharges after a delay. Or it could be on Slow Sync. In this, the flash fires at the end of the exposure. Just go to Flash modes (the lightning-like icon) and if it is showing an eye-like icon or the word 'slow', change it to some other mode, probably the flash ON or OFF mode. Also, make sure that the batteries are fully charged.

If this solves the issue, please rate this solution.

My Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H7has bought up an issue where it brings up an 'usb connecting' screen for one or two seconds occasionally when using the camera. This does not effect the photo taking quality at...

hi ian. this is not a normal camera operation. usb connecting screen should only appear during camera to computer connection. so if your using the camera and this happens intermittently it would indicate that there is a mulfunction inside the camera that's causing this issue to appear all of a sudden. professional repair may be needed. but you can try these following t/s steps: initializing camera (see:p.75 of the handbook), power reset (remove power source incl. battery and leave cam w/o power for a minute), or check multi-connector port for any grounded or broken terminals. hope this helps. thanks:)

My Canon Power Shot (about 4 years old) suddenly has developed problems. It looks like I am shooting through a mesh. There are horizontal and vertical lines on the pictures. Is there a solution?

This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check this link for more info.

Sony cyber shot DSC-W1 Digital Camera

I found an online manual for your camera. Page 84 talks about the USB Mode Normal with the 4 dots underneath. It also show a troubleshooting area for this and it is on page 96. Hopefully this will get your camera working right again. Here is the link to the pdf manual. http://www.docs.sony.com/release/DSCW1.pdf

My T7 has developed severe chromatic aberration

Not everyone is happy with this camera, though most are. It could be that your camera has developed a fault with the sensor, and I would suggest that you hurry and use the warranty if it's not over yet. One thing that users of this camera agree on, is that the flash is poor. It's range is very limitied, and the camera just isn't built for indoor/night shooting. If you have the subject within the flash range, which I would guess should be around 2 meters, then it should be ok, otherwise it's not known to give good results. If it gives poor results in full daylight, and the settings are default, then I would guess your camera developed a sensor problem. Good luck
