# Realistic expectations for transmission range

I would like to know if anyone can estimate what sort of useable range I can expect from this model of 2-way radio, when being used within a shallow valley with relatively sparse vegetation (small trees) between the two radios?

All depends on radio power out, those types of radios are on the absolute lowest end of the radio spectrum, only putting out about 1/2 watt to maybe 1 at most 2 watts of power in some of the other models. so with that low of a power out 1/2 to 1 watt, you will not get much at all, MAYBE one floor in a building and prob less than 1/2 mile outside, depending on obstructions, hills, trees, buildings. you'd need to upgrade to some higher power radios that run at least \$ 250 each to get some decent coverage. The range estunated for this radios is very poor, is related with the enviroment, the vegetation could decrese sifnificative your range. The specs for this radio says is for 4 milles, but with line of sight, every thing between the line of sight will decrese your range. Neto

### Can a realistic pro 55 model 20 124 be programmed to different frequencies?

Hello, your scanner appears to be a 10 channel crystal controlled scanner. I'm estimating it to be around 30-40 years old. I think there is a couple companies still making custom crystals but you have to find the freq's #'s to give them. Here is the freq. range it will pick up. Frequency range RX 30-50 / 144-174 / 450-512 MHz I personally would take the money spent for crystals and apply it towards a newer scanner that is programmable so no crystals needed. ### Does anyone have a problem sighting in a mosberg 935?

Shotguns don't "sight in" remember. Shotguns don't "aim". They "point". That's where patterning your gun/ammo comes in. Just get a variety of shells from diff manufacturers and start shooting at cardboard targets AT THAT RANGE YOU EXPECT TO SHOOT. If the spread is less than 50% pellets on the expected target at that expected range, go tighter on the choke tube until it is. Be warned....that one perfect brand of shell you find today probably won't be working so well a couple of years from now. Be ready to repattern in the next couple of years. Nice gun, btw! Congrats!

As always, prices really vary and you need to shop around online. I've seen them forbetween \$300 and \$400. I came across this link to a site that has a Toshibamodel on offer http://www.breathingspace.co.uk/toshiba-supercool-portable-air-conditioner

### Have a 04 R1150Rt whose transmission has gone out twice within the lst 15000 miles. the first time had to do with clutch plate splines and input shaft, Second event similar to the first. Can move...

Who rebuild the transmission the first time? Was it done at a BMW dealer? Work done by an authorized dealer is warranted for 2 years from date of repair. If work was done by an reputable independent shop, I would think they would at least warranty the labor

If you replaced the input shaft, and clutch disc with the original repair, it is very hard to believe that it has failed again in only 3000 miles. Remove the starter motor on the LHS of the engine/trans and take a look inside.

If you live in the eastern US, you can try Anton. He seems to have a good reputation and is an independent shop.

### Battery goes flat after less than 10 uses

You will find that 3000 uses is only under test conditions at a certain temperature level etc. If your battery only lasts ten uses then the unit has a problem and needs to go to the manufacturer. 500 to a thousand is more realistic figure. If its cold where you live or use it expect the lower end of performance out of your batteries.
