Well, Sounds Like you got a bad hinge, but I would need more details, and probably a pic to be sure.

LCD screen

If your a traveler or a student having a laptop with all the time, make sure to be careful on the screen itself coz it is not heat proof. One thing for this as my experience, I left the laptop in my car at the back seat. It happens last summer though. My car don't have much tint on it, when I get back to my car and wanted to use my laptop it has already a crack on the LCD screen. My laptop is working okay, pertaining for the boot process and everything. I went home and tear down my laptop screen and there is no way to fix on it but have to order a new replacement for the screen.

The main cause of the crack is the heatness that falls to my car on that time and ambiance of my car is hot having a direct sunlight towards the front seats. Just bare in mind my friend/s to take care of your laptop and don't leave it anywhere even in your car. Thank you.

I banged on the keyboard of my laptop now the screen has all these colors going across but you can not see anything. What happened and can it be fixed?

You screen is cracked. It will require replacement.
If it's not the screen, then it's the LCD lamp, which is generally just inside/beside the joint of the screen (where it meets the laptop body). You can try tapping the area gently, to see whether it falls back into place, but if you've got permanent colour defects, it's probably a broken LCD.

Screen works when it wants to. the laptop will be on but will not show a display; it will show a white screen for long periods of time, which usually results in playing with the position of the screen to...

From what you wrote, more than likely the lcd cable is loose / damaged. Take the lcd casing apart, check the back of the lcd to make sure the cable is nice and secure, do the same with the other end that connects to the motherboard, test the lcd out BEFORE you put everything back together to determine where the problem is ;)

Battery lock is lose, battery keeps falling off

This is common, I usually fold some paper, and jam it in at each end, not a pretty repair but effective. That or in worse circumstances a wee drop of Hot Glue, is a great fix, it can be simply picked off if ever you need to do anything with the battery.

Charger keeps falling out and cutting off the laptop

if the charger keep on falling then the hole for the charger point on your system is too big for the charger but what you will have to do is that the might be other model of your system that will charge your system so what you will have to do is to go along with your system to the vendor near you that sells it so they will find the appropriate one that will charge your system even not for your model but the same maker but at least it will stick well and charge your laptop

Screen on Sony VAIO PCG-SRX99 needs to be tightened.

you will have to take the bezel front plate of the screen off and check to see if anything there has broken from the hinges. there are usually two-three screws holding the hinge to the screens back cover and two-three holding it in place on the base of the laptop. if all those are intact you will need to replace the hinges.

good luck

Acer 5610 screen problem,ser help

Not too sure about the problem, laptops can be tricky to fix. Sounds to me like it might be a loose connection. Perhaps in the "fall" something was knocked loose?

Unless your an expert at taking laptops apart u might not want to, then again if you can't use it and you think its useless, what have u got to lose?
