Blank view finder and screen

When i turn my 5700 on, everything looks and sounds like it is working. When i look through the view finder and the screen, it looks as if I still have the lens cap on. No, I checked and the cap is off. It will take a picture of what it sees, Blank. I can look at previous shots I have taken, but nothing new. Does anyone have an idea on this? It was working fine a week ago.

I fear that your camera is having damaged CCD. Pls contact nikon service centre for free repairs as it is a manufacturing defect.

Nikon coolpix 5700 When switched on the view finder and the screen display information but no immage. In outher words the screen lights up but is blank. Please help.

The camera has a iris problem . The Iris of the lens maybe stuck up and is not opening due to which no image can be seen. Opening a Lens to fix that requires expertise. I would recommed to look for a repairman in your area

No image through view finder or LCD

Here is the ccd advisory for the Nikon:
http://www.nikonusa.com/email_images/nikonusa/service_advisory/coolpix.html

The Sony may have the same problem, Search on the Internet for key words:
Sony DSC717 ccd advisory. This camera was made in the time when the ccds had a problem (1999 to 2002).
You may want to call Sony for this one.
Sony made the ccds for many brands including Canon, Nikon and many others.

Nikon E5700 digital camara. Camara turns on, everything looks good, shutter opens but only see black through the view finder, monitor and will only take black pictures. I reset camera to factory...

There is a service advisory out for Nikon E5700.

t has come to our attention that in a limited number of COOLPIX 3100, 3500, 4500, 5000, 5400, 5700 and SQ digital cameras, an electronic component may, in some instances, fail affecting your camera's performance and/or operability.

While only a limited number of COOLPIX 3100, 3500, 4500, 5000, 5400, 5700 and SQ digital cameras are affected by this advisory, if your camera presents symptoms that can include (1) images with a strong color tint, (2) images that are totally black and/or (3) images with visible defects, Nikon will, upon confirmation that the problem is associated to this Service Advisory, service your camera free of charge.

Nikon coolpix 5700

at the back of the camera next to the view finder (bottom right hand corner) is a button and icon marked SEL. pressing this button toggles the lens image from the view finder to the lcd screen and back again. IF neither view is available then I suspect your camera needs some TLC at a repair shop. hope this helps.
